Is anyone else concerned?

Yeah, I saw some of those names and said, "Who's dat?"
Correct.
There have definitely been some guys especially Camac that sting and will be a challenge to replace. Others not so much.

Yeah, I saw some of those names and said, "Who's dat?"Some of our portal departures may have been 'encouraged' to explore other options.
Hayden Anderson is a big time WR. So far he is staying committed. Cassidy is a huge WR but he plays soft af. Also staying put.Yes, those 2 obviously, but also in the portal are McDaniel, Irvin, and Corey Thompson.
Who caught how many passes this year? Frankly our WR Corp outside White and DeJesus was a big letdown especially given Marion was a WR. I know it's partially on Hajj/Sluka to get them the ball but when they tried, there was a lot of dropped passes. Getting a fresh group might not be so bad...Yes, those 2 obviously, but also in the portal are McDaniel, Irvin, and Corey Thompson.
Yes, those 2 obviously, but also in the portal are McDaniel, Irvin, and Corey Thompson.by most of our Wrs you mean White and Dejesus because outside those 2 we didnt have any other real WRs, lol...
Again, some are concerned about "rebuilding" a team and thats fair. But its not like Mullen is a first time HC and doesnt have any connections, recruits, etc. We are going to see a lot of movement, but thats not a sky is falling moment. Especially becuase of the media hype Mullen has gotten since being hired. Hes been on the Bowl game coverage on National TV, on the Herd, etc. He's going to get talked about during the CFP because his friend Urban is on the big noon kickoff and theyll talk about UNLV when Boise is on..
by most of our Wrs you mean White and Dejesus because outside those 2 we didnt have any other real WRs, lol...at this point, it's TBD on what offensive players we're going to have. We're losing both QB's, most of the WR's, the TE, and most of the OL. So at this point, you build the offensive playbook on Jet Thomas it seems.
It won't be the NCAA. The top schools will break away and players will form representation. Use the current pay cap/ luxury tax in pro sports as a guide. As far as under the table goes I can see teams stretching the rules ( think NHL ) before i can see much under the table activity. Teams will be thoroughly audited and each team will have an interest in keeping the others in line. But we know how that would work with big schools. Cap reached, under the table for the other dudes. You’d be better off under the table anyway for tax purposes.
It’s too out of control. NCAA will play the don’t ask, don’t tell game with that.
Outside of UNLV and BSU, there isn't a single team in the PAC or MWC that would move the needle at all. The only thing that will matter is the out of conference schedule. If UNLV can in the future have a schedule similar to this season, then I believe they will get the nod over BSU 9 out of 10 times in the future with a similar record. The only thing that moved the needle at all for BSU this season was the Oregon game and the two games verse UNLV.

He did say that 60% or his playbook will be the same. Or was it 80%. He will tailor the offense to the players we have so that's good, but i dont think he will do anything radically different
That was a bit of a joke. Saying that an I formation would be a radical formation these days.In the interview where he mentioned a spread option he also said he'd consider an "I" formation. It all would depend on the players he had.
In the interview where he mentioned a spread option he also said he'd consider an "I" formation. It all would depend on the players he had.Very true.
But a spread option O line may require different type of players
"All the schools with the $$ will end up with the best ones anyway."All the schools with the $$ will end up with the best ones anyway. I support capitalism too but that isn't forcing schools to allow players to stay into their 30s.
That’s the unlv brand, excitement. I don’t know if that fake punt would happen without Del Alexander OK’ing it, I’m not sure Barry would have given his overly conservative approach to the game. The fake punt was due to the special teams coach who is at Purdue, but the recruits only see that UNLV pulled of this amazing fake punt! It is still blowing up on social media, and could have an impact on recruiting for UNLV football!

Both go 3-1...Vs similiar competition.
You cannot seriously think that when it comes time for the CFP committee rankings that UNLV is getting the nod over Boise playing the new MWC schedule vs the PAC schedule.

Yeah the bedwetting over not being in the PAC is weird. It's like people don't realize that nobody in the midwest, south or east see a huge difference in playing Fresno or New Mexico. They don't. Like some east coast media pollster is going to dock UNLV massively for not playing in the PAC instead of the MWC. It's frankly, laughable.
Login to view embedded mediaThose ESPN highlights, and Pat McAfee praising the team help a lot too.
The only reason that the AAC wasn't in front of the MWC was due to BSU having a very high rating due to the one game played verse Oregon. Remove BSU and the rest of the MWC didn't do anything. When the MWC breaks to the PAC, they will have BSU and a bunch of SCRUBS (sorry, pun intended!). Depending on being able to get NIU and one other team from back east, I do not believe there will be that noticeable of a difference between the MWC and the PAC on a national level. The bottom line is that UNLV must be as good as they were this year or better. As for BSU, remove the wins over UNLV, and they didn't beat a single team ranked in the top 40.SOS is SOS.
Computers can tell the difference between Austin or Laramie either.
SDSU has been a top3 MW team historically. To think that they are going to be a perpetual bottom feeders given everything they have is pretty short sighted.
When it comes for that coveted playoff spot SOS will matter. We may have to play 6 90+ teams. Thr PAC may have 1 or 2. That makes a ridiculous difference.
The AAC was hurt by their SOS this year despite their records. UNLV this season looked better in comparison
Again it is G5. But there will be a difference. In both competition and payout.
Oh money does matter. Huge gap for everyone not in the P4. But there is a difference between maybe 5 a year vs 10+.
Oh yeah say goodbye to our NCAAT credits once the legacy payouts run out.
Those ESPN highlights, and Pat McAfee praising the team help a lot too.way too early to press the panic button. Jet is staying and others will come back + Mullen will get his guys in eventually.
It’s also very early in the process, lots of teams still bowling and there’s the CFP. There’s a lot of moving parts here so it will be a process before Mullen gets his staff in place and players in.
Hopefully Mullen is a good scrabble player. I also hope he can find a way to hide the better scrabble pieces and pull them out as needed!Feels like scrabble. You can’t dick with your tiles so you toss them back and grab seven brand new ones and keep your fingers crossed.
AC/DC in the pregame show! lolTag Team was played every time the Las Vegas Thunder scored a goal so its pretty near and dear to my heart as a former Thunder season ticket holder.
Win win for them. Get to play for a coach they love, AND get paid a little bit more. Purdue also increased their NiL budget too.Wonder how many would be in the portal if Odom had stayed? I’m sure there wouldn’t be as many, but the reality is many still would have. That is, unfortunately, the nature of college football today.
