good point. One thing Gonzaga would do is increase units for the NCAA tournament. Which is a legit source of Revenue.
So I can kinda see it.

If it was that easy where is the UTEP and NMSU invites? Where is the UNM invite? They have more TVs and support than Las Cruces or El Paso. The Pac2+ knows those can't be the 2. So, I guess you are right....but if it was as easy as inviting 2 teams with NMSU or UTEP's caliber, it would have happened. If they add nmsu and utep today, they are getting more money in their tv deal than the MWC.
There aren't really people on this board that thing UNLV carries this market, are there? UNLV could be undefeated for 5 years and less than half of the people would be able to name the coach, quarterback, or conference UNLV is in.
Game time decision according to Coach O. He just had press conference.I forgot the rest of my post...
Mikey Keane is improved from last year but he can still be baited into really bad throws. They are a wide open offense. Pressure is key to get Mikey to make bad decisions. If we win the turnover battle I think we win the game. Catalan and Baldwin are primed for 2-3 Ints.
Anyone have word on McDuffie?

Actually he throws better on the move so far. It is kinda backwards, but he tends to overthrow guys with his feet set.Can Sluka get his arse in the friggin pocket? Not so much yet ….
This is the truthIf they add nmsu and utep today, they are getting more money in their tv deal than the MWC.

Nahhhh mannnnn Kevin Kruger is totally competent……Not to mention the entertainment value of watching UNLV get boat raced on its home floor by about 30-40 points every other year.
I'm wondering if this was an intentional leak to see what they could shake loose... maybe get someone to jump after getting constantly rejected... but yeah, a full share of media rights is nutsSupposedly that Gonzaga deal has not been agreed to . Doesn't mean that they won't, but as of now, it's not.
I posted this elsewhere. It could mean ESPN is in the Pac2+ TV deal talks and they might be pushing hard to get their darling into a better conference. So what would the PAC have to gain by offering a full share? Reputation? Making it easier to attract football schools? A better network contract? Maybe it's not true but if it is I wonder the reasoning behind it.
From looking at the UNLV tickets site, it looks pretty good in terms of the number of seats sold. I'd guess that there are around 1500-2000 seats remaining in the lower bowl. I could be off on that, but if all of those people show, the lower bowl will be almost full. Hopefully, as it gets closer, we get a bunch of students and other locals that pick up tickets, and they have to open some upper level sections as well.Yes it was announced at 24.5k, but they gave out 7200 free student tickets, and from the reports it seemed like a lot of the paid people didn't show.
Man i hope he is able to go. I havent listened to the presser from today. I'm guessing it came up.Anyone have word on McDuffie?
To follow up, at this point, I might prefer UNLV to stay put. Get the lump sum payment rumored for remaining mwc schools, uneven distributions of media rights dollars, and improve your programs. If they add nmsu and utep today, they are getting more money in their tv deal than the MWC.

If they add nmsu and utep today, they are getting more money in their tv deal than the MWC.Wrong. They're not a conference without 8. There are teams they can add other than UNLV, but would they want to? That kills their already iffy TV deal based on the 6 they have. They need Vegas...and they're going to have to tell SDSU to put its tail between its legs and invite UNLV.
Supposedly that Gonzaga deal has not been agreed to . Doesn't mean that they won't, but as of now, it's not.Gonzaga with a full share is crazy talk. They do get 4 mil per year, which is high considering the lack of football. I can see them wanting a decent bump for coming over. They have been flirting with the Big 12 over the years so they have a little bit of leverage.
If SMU joins too, would they get the same? yeesh, I don't know.
I like the idea of more Basketball than Football members. You need more members for basketball since it is hard to fill up the OOC with fewer conference games.
Yes it was announced at 24.5k, but they gave out 7200 free student tickets, and from the reports it seemed like a lot of the paid people didn't show.Is that what Utah Tech was vs what they announced 25K or whatever? We'll see this week I can see not seeing Utah Tech but this game should be at the actual announced number.
If there is improvement it should be after the bye week for sure otherwise unlikely. It did take Maiava to open up the passing game last year. Similar situation, though I think Sluka had more time with the 1s than Maiava did last preseason.
I do think there is some room for improvement, but I doubt it changes drastically after this bye week.
Yeah exactly I don't count broken plays either if it isn't by design then it doesn't mean your offense is better it means you got lucky or the defense screwed up. Or in Sluka's case he made a nice play.Yeah, I am not counting Sluka runs on broken play as chunk run plays, though technically they are. We have one break out traditional run play against FBS schools this year, and we didn't do great there against Dixie either.
Wrong. They're not a conference without 8. There are teams they can add other than UNLV, but would they want to? That kills their already iffy TV deal based on the 6 they have. They need Vegas...and they're going to have to tell SDSU to put its tail between its legs and invite UNLV.Hyperbolic. They have lost the shock leverage. They will still get more TV money than MWC and probably American. They (and now mwc) still have a warche$t. They still currently have no dead weight.
It did take Maiava to open up the passing game last year. Similar situation, though I think Sluka had more time with the 1s than Maiava did last preseason. If we don't see an improvement this week then we probably are what we are. At this point if you haven't improved your offense over four games it probably ain't coming. I know Sluka got a late start, understanding a new offense etc but it isn't like we are running the run and shoot or something complicated.
