Honestly, I think hes going to Tulsa. Maybe they're just waiting till all the conference stuff is played out to do so but the fact that we havent seen any conversation around his alma mater job opening seems to me that either he has no interest in leaving, or theyre focusing on the games and the rest will follow once thats played out this year.
About going to Tulsa: he'll get the benefit of the doubt because it's the alma mater. I'd guess, hypothetically, he could be bad for 3-4 years and eventually get fired, but get hired as an OC at a p4 school at that time and just blame resources.

What's this about?

It was a good presser. Multiple groups of players was a nice touch.

I didn't save the link, but there was a nice clip, I think it was from the post game vs UNR. Odom opened the media scrum with, daughter on his lap and flanked on either side by Hajj and Jackson, thanking everyone for being there and mentioning that it was on that day 5 years ago he was fired by Missouri. He turned it into a statement about learning lessons in life and using them to your advantage to get better and do better. Looked like he was getting emotional, took a pause, and said he's proud of his guys and that he gets to be their coach, happy to surrounded by this group.

It was a nice moment

AIDS tests scare me. That's why I do the round-about-AIDS test. I just ask a friend, "Do you know anyone who has AIDS? No? Cool....cuz you know me."
First Mitch joke I ever heard:

An escalator can never break; it can only become stairs. Never will you see an escalator out of order sign. "Escalator temporarily stairs - SORRY FOR THE CONVENIENCE!"

Update Marion 24/7 insider!

Marion definitely. Still not sold on Odom just dumping us to go get a pay day because some P4 school said so.

In the offseason I was of the opinion Odom wouldn't jump at just any P4 job. I still am.

But with what Cignetti did at IU....Which I think most of us would consider a middling at best P4 job is/was impressive..

So it does make me consider more P4 jobs as 'possible' vs 'why would he' than before.

Never Have We Ever…

Funny looking how far down TCU and Utah have gone over the last few years. I guess the days of the fans from those two schools spitting on UNLV are gone for now!
Utah has been solid over the last ten years but this is a down year. I don't know of Utah fans spitting on UNLV. UNLV has not been relevant for Utah fans to discuss since Utah joined the Pac12 and now the Big12.

I doubt it would be all about the money but if a SEC or BIG school comes calling it’d be hard for him to not try and give it one more go while he’s relatively young. Wouldn’t blame him one bit either. I think we’ve shown enough that we’d be able to attract a decent HC now that it’s been shown you can win here.

Back to back conference championship games is something I thought I’d never see for UNLV football. Would love nothing more for UNLV to win and make the playoffs, but have a hard time seeing them beat Boise State unless they catch a few breaks. Never know though. It will only be natural for BSU to be a little over confident since they beat us twice in a row and are playing at home.

Agree on this take. Odom has already done the SEC HC thing so I don’t think he’s going to jump at just any job that becomes available. I think he’s going to be very selective on where/when/if he goes. Of course, this is without any knowledge whatsoever and family dynamics and whether or not they are happy here. I do think that if Odom goes to a P4 job, that it’s entirely possible that Marion follows him unless he gets a HC job.
