Las Vegas talking heads shitting on UNLV??? The more the things change....They’re taking Sluka’s version as truth and slamming UNLV. One of the commentators sounds like he has an ax to grind with UNLV.
So does the agent get his percentage of the handshake deal? Plus, I heard the collective rep had his fingers crossed when the made the handshake so it didn't count. So from what I gather. Agent is saying UNLV NIL collective promised a large sum of money/car via handshake and didn't get anything in writing. Sluka went to collect and UNLV told him to kick rocks?
Sounds like he learned an important life lesson.
Agent is an idiot.
Notice that they say "scholarships". Remind me when the NCAA changed the rules to allow schools to directly participate in NIL activities? Early this summer? So while we all know that schools/coaches have been quietly in the mix all along, wouldn't direct overtures be against the rules at the time?
His power play just blew up. I have a feeling this is going to get ugly. That statement is a straight bullseye into Sluka's credibility... framing it as a pay for play conversation will make him untouchable for serious big programs..
I'm not going to make an uninformed judgement. But, Coach Odom has a very good reputation. Look at the number of players followed him from other schools. To me, that shows loyalty. Additionally, we have a couple of All-Americans on the team, and there doesn't seem to be a problem with broken promises. Fact that Sluka's family went out and got an agent doesn't bode well for him. Technically a verbal is not a binding contract. Likewise, it wasn't Odom who promised him anything, it was an assistant coach (so they say). I find it far more plausible the he did get NIL money but was not satisfied when the team did well after the wins. Also, stories out there that Sluka went to Odom's office and demanded $300,000 more on Monday also sounds plausible. If he hadn't been paid the full $100,000 why would he up the ante?this conference stuff has had me almost done with the school in general…..wasn’t sure what to do and needed a sign, and this morning Slukunt quits because he’s either a piece of crap or we are….hahahahahahaha sign received
Does that mean he pays Odom to be his agent? All I’m hearing is that his agent was incompetent and missed on a lot of steps. He went to the coach because the agent wasnt getting anywhere with the NIL collective. They figured Odom would call them up and tell them to get it done and just keep things moving. Someone over valued their position.
Hajj was also much sought after. He can run the ball too. I don’t think he has that top end speed of the recently departed guy; but we’re trading like 10% top speed to add 70% throwing ability. Lets not pretend the other guy could consistently make passes.I suspect the team rallies behind Hajj this week and Fresno runs into a buzz saw...
Their narrative does not make sense. Someone walks up to someone else and says, "Hey, your buddy promised me money from a third group. I expect you to see that they pay it, now!!??"So why did they say he went to Odom, when Odom didn’t make the “promise”? If I were Odom I would have told him to get back to practice too.

Just punt on every 2nd down. Save the QB for the CFPThat said now down to 2 guys with game experience Marion/Odom may try and dial back the QB run game a little to protect against injury.
Exactly. A verbal non-writing offer? And when was this supposed to be paid that he came here anyway without any money, at season's end?Spin... All spin... 6 months since February before season started to get it in writing and secured. Heck 3 months before you graduated, you couldve backed out and gone elsewhere. Thats on the agent.
