That's a relief. Couldn't bear to hear them bragging about making the final four. Imagine one of tark's best teams of all-time getting punted in the 1st round. They must feel awful...Haha!

They played almost all nobodies in the non conference schedule. It’s no wonder why they only got a 7 seed despite having such a good record. And it makes their loss a lot less surprising. It was really unlikely that they would make it past this weekend.

Sad thing is we tried to pad our record with meaningless wins too and couldn’t do it.

Also to make the Final 4 they really needed to be seeded much higher (probably at least a 3 seed). But to do that they needed to play a real schedule (and actually win against tough opposition). Otherwise they would have to go really close to undefeated.

In the end they just didn’t look like they were close to good enough to be a Final 4 team; that was a weak game from them.

They did play a ton of nobodies in their OOC and I think their OOC SOS was around 95-100. It needed to be a bit tougher, IMO.

Ours was much worse and we finished 6-6 against it. I think ours was a terrible 170. That’s one area we need to improve dramatically. I wish next coach had complete control of next schedule, but Menzies has had his paws on it so you know it’s got too many corpses on it, dude hasn’t played a decent schedule his entire career. Scared to compete, scared to challenge his kids.

Has to be one of the bigger letdowns in modern college basketball history. Very few if any teams return all 5 starters from a Sweet Sixteen team. To not make it out of the first round is a punch to the gut for everyone at UNR this year. This was supposed to be their best team ever, instead it was a dud.
