Utah State transfer Great Osobor, the top available player in the NCAA transfer portal, has committed to Washington.
Osobor, the Mountain West Conference Player of the Year, has name, image and likeness agreements in place that will give him the highest-known valuation in college basketball this season, at $2 million.

If these numbers are accurate its no wonder why we're unable to land program changing players. Luckily we were able to retain Dedan but if other top players are expecting multi-million dollar payouts UNLV Basketball is not going back to the upper echelon of college basketball. These numbers seem insane but I guess this is the new landscape, makes me wonder what a top 50/100 type portal player is getting.

That's insane!

Nah, the number convinced him to go to a program thats a huge rebuild and to show that UW can pay NIL $$ as a help to his coach. I think he's now gone from MSU to USU to UW with Sprinkle. Yeah, its a huge $ amount, but I think its a show of force for Sprinkle at UW to send shots across the bow in the Big 10 because they havent done well in the NIL market per my colleagues that are UW alumni. Its definitely an insane amount and we dont need to and cant compete for those level players, but there are very few programs that can.

I dont know the details of how that is broken down but there are some players across college athletics that are receiving more than that amount if we break it down in terms of their penthouse rent, cars, food, cash up front, money from brand deals, etc. If Great is getting 2 mil cash...all I can say is wow. Congrats to him.
