When you get down to it there are perhaps 10-15 (University Presidents/AD's and a few others) people who are willing to destroy the Athletic programs of six-to-eight schools so WSO and OSU don't have to set foot on the lowly Wyoming, USU or SJSU campuses. They could have split their $ 250 million and merged into the top G5 conference and had a near lock annual on a bid to the playoffs. But No.................!!! They are just too good to get some manure on their polished loafers at Wyoming. Too good to play in a less than perfect stadium in Albuquerque. The "snooty two" and the "traitor four" are just disgusting. And to think it would end up in our best interest to join these revolting slugs is really distressing.

I get where you are coming from. I feel it as well.

So much looking the other way just to get by …. You have to swallow things that you’re firmly against …. I feel like that in the end, even if you begrudgingly accept it, it chisels away at your love for the spirit of competition and those other things that might draw you to it.

All I'm saying is if UNLV is beating SDSU later in the season.

1- Run up the score if possible. I'm talking up 28 with 5 minutes left...Play action passes. Reverses. You absolutely bury them.

2- Same scenario crowd must begin a chant of 'Meet the metrics' in response to SDSU president saying we didn't 'meet the metrics.'

There is another way to look at it. If UNLV continues to improve, then Washington State and Oregon State will never get a sniff of the playoffs!

What Id really like to see now is the rest of the G5s all band together and thumb their noses right back at the 6...
"Oh, you all wanted to screw each of us.. fine, good luck without a conference"...
Itll never happen because some itchy AD/President will get a call with a offer thatll make them look good to the right people at the University and then theyll get to thump their chest at the new brand and how they've become relevant, etc.... The typical stuff you see in hostile take overs..
At least now, I sure hope that a bunch of yellow flags start flying when Boise starts to run or pass against us.. you know the type of stuff we usually see called against us. Then maybe a few extra whistles in basketball games that go our way...

That is not at all funny but it would actually make sense. Can you imagine the cluster? Your traitors trying to renege, the Pac-2 suing them to honor their contracts, suing the MW to get our poaching penalties back.

Now that my preferred corporate partner has merged with Hawaiian Air, we may have to offer Hawaii. Would they owe the full $17M since they are FB only? The Alaska/Hawaiian Air Pac-X. Brought to you in part by the law firm of Dewey, Cheatum and How. :)

Exactly how I felt. Thank you.

SDSU and Boise flip flop around like fishes out off the water. In the AAC, out off the AAC and back to MWC. It is the name. The Pacific Coast Conference that excited these schools the "traitor fours". You are not the Pacific Coast Conference anymore, Loyal Coug

Thats the thing, it would be hilarious to watch, we all had a good laugh at SDSU tucking tale a few years ago.....but youll always find 2 partners... you dont think schools like UTEP or UTSA aren't licking their lips hoping they strike an easy payday simply because they're needed to take beatdowns?

No matter what, if SDSU and BSU want to come back...they need to pay that penalties. FSU should pay the same. Then deducts their cuts by 25%. CSU need to be kick out.

It wasn't not wanting to go to Wyoming. It was accepting a 6-7 mil per year contract.
If they can get 10+ and become the best G5. Two birds one dickish stone
Save the sound reasoning for the other 15 threads... this one's for snooty no good nose up in the air traitors who didn't want to dirty their boots... 🤣

They aren't coming back.

This thing is further along than any of us think.
Cool. Let's see how this thing transpires. This reminds me of Clemson and Florida State arguing with the ACC when their season is shit. How much power do they think they have? CSU got obliterated by CU and Texas. BSU loss a game they should have won. SDSU is barely breathing. Fresno is good. Come Step 28 vs UNLV we will see how good they are.

Is this speculation, or information? It doesn't sound like speculation so spill the beans. ;)

Trust me if I had info I'd spill the beans.

Gut feeling.

They had to have pretty good feeling they could get this done.

I'm sure there were contingency plans if top targets fell through.

AFA may be the point of no return for MWC.

They leave, you are down to 7 and Hawaii being football only is problematic.

This appears to be well orchestrated. Underhanded, sneaky....Yep.But well planned out.

Whether UNLV is part of the discussions is really the biggest question mark.

Part of discussion with whom? The Traitor Fours? Probably not. Discussion with PAC2? That is what I heard. The first.

With everybody.

WSU, OSU,CSU, BOISE,FRESNO, SDSU along with their top targets who appear to be Memphis and Tulane.

They knew there would be a trickle down effect in the MWC.

AFA has been pondering a move to join ARMY/NAVY and now have even more incentive.

AFA bolts the MWC is in major trouble of staying together.

I guarantee you every AD and President at UNM, RENO, WYO, USU and UNLV are on the phone with AAC, CUSA discussing potential landing spots. MWC commissioner looking at possible mergers? Potential targets to poach etc.

Reality of the situation is, MWC is teetering on imploding. And UNLV may not be in the PAC's future plans.

I don't know.

Because unless there's a BIG12 invite coming, UNLV could end up in CUSA or AAC and neither would be great.

I guess it's possible MWC tries to stay alive by poaching but their options are pretty limited I think.

Again, any conference UNLV becomes a part of is lucky to have us. We're a darling and developing super power... imagine joining a conference that we can then dominate? We're Vegas, we can still get good schedules... people want to come here, so we spend a few years in AAC or CUSA till Big 12 is ready, win 3 championships, go to 3 tournaments and bam... Hello P4

Are you sure it wasn't from the Traitor Four's gumming? Just relax Bull. You told people to relax, follow your own advice.
Bull, you know football. Talks about UNLV football. Everyone is all excite about. Please help us understand more about it. Most of UNLV fans including myself are lifelong basketball fans trying to understand football. Leave the politicking to political people. JMO

Yeah well now I'm not relaxed and everyone needs to suffer the same anxiety.

Before I thought UNLV would find a good landing spot, the way this might be heading, not so sure now.

UNLV is in such a good position...just relax a little.

Memphis and Tulane? Yes. I buy that. And that well documented.
UTSA makes since. Not as good competitively, but a good market in TX.
Texas State? That is a stretch. Bad market for a football team that has been FBS for maybe 8 years?
UNT? Meh. Denton is close to Dallas but don't think they count as the DFW market. If so they have poor penetration if they do.
PAC has also said 9 teams.
I don't think it is too far fetched to think Stanford/Cal comes back. There was a good a out of talk about that last week, thouh I javent heard much since. Remember they are traveling across the country to play fo free.
But I do think UNLV is a target. So do A LOT of people. I do think they are on deck a d the finances are a tougher sell. But it also looks like the AAC teams could get expensive.
I also don't think that 2 more MW teams go to the PAC that is definitely too expensive.

I hope you're right and no news is good news.

But if UTSA and South Florida jump ship along with Tulane and Memphis (There's smoke with those 2 schools) That would put PAC at 10. Spots start running out quick.

Did you hear UTSA coach interview when asked about it?

It sure sounded like there have been talks.

If PAC adds anymore from MWC it's likely UNLV.

I wouldn't rule UNM, USU or SJSU out completely either. Reno/Wyo I can't see it.

Except we don't need the PAC... do you really want to fly to South Florida, then San Antonio in back to backs while taking a payout percentage less than the first 6 teams and paying your own exit fee... no thanks

South Florida is in Tampa, Florida. That is a good thing? From Pullman, WA and Corvallis, OR to Tampa, FL? For what? What are their best deal? $10 per? The AAC deal is at $9 millions?

I would totally do that 3.5 hour drive for a UTSA game! Lol

I do believe UTSA is seriously considered.
It feels like Memphis is holding out for something. Probably B12. Tulane? Not so sure.

USF? I think that is just too far. Also not a good enough program I think. Decent market though.

Honestly I could see UTSA and UNLV and they shut it down for a bit.

I also think they might be working out some sort of deal with UNLV currently. Some sort of fee assistance program

UNLV actually has a little power as long aa we keep winning. If we drop 3 in a row we lose a good bit of that

UNLV powers is not just from recent winnings.

Ok and when the new MWC media deal is cut in half or we land in CUSA then what?

Asking conversationally.

If the media deal is 3x more than we currently have? Yes.

The reverse of that question is do you want to watch UNLV play Sam Houston State, NMSU, WESTERN KY?

Or the left overs of the AAC?

The new PAC is somehow potentially good enough for Memphis but not UNLV?
