No question the new Las Vegas Dome will be great for UNLV football. But 2 important points that can't be overlooked as to the true value. First, unlike other scenarios where college football programs play home games at a pro stadium and just use ancillary locker rooms, UNLV will have it's own and personal locker room which will be built to NFL specifications. That's HUGE!
Also, I know there are some concerns with the game day experience because UNLV football will not in the beginning fill a cavernous 65,000 seat stadium. However, I would think the Las Vegas Dome will have features similar to the new Atlanta Dome which changes the sight lines with a retractable ceiling or partition which covers or shields the upper level for smaller events giving a much more intimate setting and seats 35,000 which is perfect for UNLV football.
