Hey, I definitely preferred Underwood. But what you described is pretty similar to Underwood, too.

I get the gist of what you are saying though. I also wanted somebody that was 2.5M quality. Some crap didn't occur through no fault of UNLV though.

We tried that with several coaches... they all said no thanks... please do tell these Big name coaches we haven't tried yet..

There could be but the shot clock's off and between the AD's circus act and Rice's public execution, the perception of UNLV may not be so great in coaching circles right now.

The problem with UNLV as far as experienced coaches are concerned is they know there is little patience for a rebuild, everything goes up or down faster in this town than anywhere else. Entire hotel casinos go up in months compared to years anywhere else in the world. The women, the cars , the slot machines. Fast, fast, fast. The collapses are fast too. The buildings implode, bank accounts explode, marriages erode. Vegas is a unique case but when it all comes together, it's beautiful and can't be matched. Even the best coach in the world couldn't walk away from this table when all the chips are falling his way.

Because they were veted as candidates... just because they weren't interviewed formally doesn't mean their tires weren't kicked... not to mention, no one on that list is any better a candidate than what we've gone through/left with

Every time one of those names were brought up in here it was an almost unanimous no.

Nobody wanted somebody that hasn't coached at college before and could handle recruiting and NCAA rules.

Now she should have interviewed them.
