Called a GREAT game today in Hawaii.
I have been as vocal as anyone about my displeasure with the gameplan (particularly after Idaho and SDSU) and have thought that a change might be in order. Frankly, I won't say that I'm eating crow because I stand by those comments, those were poorly called games. Coach Sanchez nearly said as much in his postgame interview with Russ and Pritch.
The guys asked Coach Sanchez about Cotton's gameplan and how good it was. Instead of gushing with praise for the OC, he talked about how everyone on the team, including the staff, had to re-evaluate some things after the losses. He talked about more creativity to get players into space. I think there were some candid discussions about our offensive approach, and demands for change by Coach Sanchez.
With that said, Cotton showed tonight that he has it in him to put together a great gameplan to put some yards and points on the board. Let's just hope that we see more of this moving forward, instead of base run, base run, pass, repeat.
