Point of no return

Pretty much a Rubicon moment.

I hate this situation during a season. I feel for everyone.

Without an incredible turnaround that leads to a substantial ending, my guess is this is the last you’ll see of this era.

The part of the situation I like least is … if what I’m stating is truth … only fans want to see wins. And not all of them do want wins (which is crappy, but it happens). With “decisions made”, they don’t want to be forced to change course and delay the inevitable. They just hope it peters out and goes silently in the night without a whimper. It gets much worse for them when there’s a chance to turn things around. By chance, I mean legitimate, not far fetched Cinderella stuff. If there is a legitimate chance, it can get ugly (we’ve seen that before, hamstringing a program in various ways for the greater good of an immediate goal achievement). This team isn’t good, the motivation and effort has been painfully low. If/when they catch wind, it’s either roll over and die or fight. I don’t see fight in this team.

It’s stupid to think Harper isn’t prepared and isn’t checking out options.

OT: OFF TOPIC Coronavirus

over the past week, ten days, I’ve been swamped by texts from people wanting to know how bad they should worry. A few threads about it here with comments, texts from people here, family, etc. Even in public, I’ve been asked by people I know.

I’m not a doctor but obviously I’m in a closely related field and have access to information regarding it.

My take is similar to what is in this claim - at this point in time - but this is a novel virus, so I’m positive thoughts will change and maybe very drastically, so keep that in mind. It can get worse if we aren't careful and I don't believe we are prepared for worse. I came across it just a few minutes ago, looks like it’s been out there for awhile, but I believe it to be succinct enough and spot on FOR RIGHT NOW. If it worsens, it could potentially be a life altering event most of us have never experienced. Viruses are nasty, nasty, nasty

If you are interested, take a look.

Like recruiting, this could change 180 degrees at the drop of a hat.

Not UNLV but football related...Kinda..

Stumbled across this on Twitter.

Short minute long video of Michigan players going through the tunnel entering the Horseshoe for the Ohio State game. Set to the music The Beast from the movie Sicario.

If there was a category for super short films 1 minute in length at the Academy Awards this would get my vote..

Timed the music and perfectly. Final 5-10 seconds cool as hell.

It's all G5....

Out of curiosity I looked at Boise State and their combined record in the WAC and later in the MWC over the last 24 years to see if there was an advantage in their national rankings by supposedly moving up from one lower level G5 conference in the WAC to what some might consider a higher level G5 conference in the MWC. For the 10 years Boise was a member of the WAC the conference was made up of Nevada, Hawaii, Fresno, Louisiana Tech, Idaho, New Mexico State, San Jose State and Utah State. Did the move to the MWC improve Boise State's national stature and perception? The simple answer based upon National AP rankings is NO! For the 10 years Boise State was in the WAC they were nationally ranked in the AP poll 9 times or 90% of the years. Boise was also ranked at some point as a WAC member in the AP top 10 in 4 different years. In contrast, as a member of the MWC Boise was ranked 11 times over 14 years or 78% with only 2 years with a top 10 AP ranking. Essentially, not much of a difference and that has been my point. It's all G5 and UNLV would have foolish to pay the MWC the $$$$ exit fee to join another G5 conference in the G5 PAC-2.

It’s Time!

Football season is finally over and we can focus our attention on those Amazing Running Rebels. Kind of funny since turning our attention to bball used to happen mid-October. Times have changed!

Burning questions

Will the Rebels ever get to full strength?

Will we ever see a set 8 man rotation?

Will the Rebs win a game they aren’t supposed to?

How many head scratchers will they lose?

Will we ever pass the ball up court for a quick easy bucket?

Will CKK turn things around and return next year?

Does Harp have a list in his pocket?
