1- protect Hajj
2- Get to Madsen and stop his running ability
3- get off field on 3rd downs, no dumb penalties, no QB scrambles for 15, no easy dump offs
4- Tds vs FGs- beat Boise in this department
5- Let Jeanty feel it every time he touches ball

Have to get Boise O off the field. In the last game I think they converted on four 4th downs.

Jays are somewhat inconsistent this year, but if your last game is beating #1 then your rollercoaster is at the top! On the other hand, Rebels are no better than their middling schedule.

I think UNLV has played better down the stretch than Boise State has vs similiar opposition.


UNLV wins if..

They do a better job protecting Hajj this game than last. Cannot give up more than 2-3 sacks.

Have got to hit 2 if not 3 chunk plays in the passing game. (25+ yards)

Force Madsen into 1 or more turnovers. If he plays a clean game I'm not sure Rebs can win.

Repeat performance or better vs Jeanty should be enough.

They had a good game plan in October, 2 mistakes (and a bogus blind side block call) erased and we walk away with the W.

He’s more unproven as a coach than Kruger. If Dickel wants to move into an assistants role, I’ll take him I guess.

UNLV wins if...

We play aggressive defense by disrupting their QB
Our Special Teams block a couple of punts
Our offensive line limits QB sacks
We play our best game for four quarters

Our TE gets 2 TD's. RW gets one TD.
We cause a blocked punt, or at least 2 punts that are shanks.
We get 4 sacks, one of which causes a fumble/TO.
We don't turn the ball over.

I do think that Boise gets about 4-5 sacks but we make up for it by causing sacks of our own and some runs for losses by their RB.

My prediction for next season: UNLV will win 11 games.
If we don't, I'll be disappointed.

To be fair, Odom was the DC at Arkansas for 3 seasons. Not like elementary school friends (nobody said it was) but definitely all of high school, and I think the transition from middle school, would have been in Fayetteville.

Anyway, I have heard rumor that he wasn't gonna start at Faith (they went 11-1, only lost in stste title game, this year) and they caused a rift.

No idea the validity. Not sure when the decision was made and I have no direct access to anybody. Round-about info, but I've heard it from people who don't know the Odoms personally. From the folks who know Odom and family personally, it was about graduating and having those years end with his former peers.

Get stops on 3rd down. If Rebs can keep the defense off the field for 6+ minute drives, and big plays, the game will be just fine.

Thinking specifically of that game-ending drive Boise had where they killed 8 and a half minutes to end the game

If they are moving to Entz as reported, I think they'll need a year or two of getting right. I think USC has been a big mess with ton of resources, and NDSU was a huge fish in a sink.

They'll be fine, but I dont think it will happen for Fresno in 25 like it did for UNLV in 23

He is very annoying. He claimed that 13 of his guys were being tampered with and an hour later, corrected himself and said he assumes. Thats way different.

1) Jacob De Jesus, scores a TD, either by running the ball or receiving.
2) Score, TD's not FG's. Duh.
3) Pressure, Maddux into hurried throws and get at least 3 sacks in the game.
4) Need, a TO or 2, against Boise St.

I just realized I “glossed over” the short reprieve JR gave us in 2000 but other than that flash in the pan Odom is doing things around here like it’s no big deal and this is truly something I wasn’t sure I would ever see at my Alma Mater!

Football is enough to get a pass for now because football is king!

We haven’t had football here since Hyde and how many AD’s have we had?.. Too many to count. I don't like Kevin being here either but to throw Harper under the bus because of it is a bit much! He has to be up there as far as AD’s go for making probably the greatest hire here since Tark!

Football rules the roost and he and his hire have put us on the freaking map.
What’s next, who knows but if we ever had a chance for the B12, Harper’s hire is the reason why!

Give him this year. If we are as bad as we look now at season’s end and he keeps him for year 5, then we can throw some dirt on him together, I will bring the shovels!

You don't really know what he is or isn't doing in regards to Kruger. They were not going to get rid of him last year, and nothing will happen this year until the season ends. My expectation is that he is gone at the end of this season.
