UNR gave Norvell a new 5 year contract and now they're offering a bonus for beating UNLV. The bonus may not seem like a lot but it's the same amount as a Power 5 win. Essentially saying a win vs UNLV is equal to a win @ USC, @ California, @ Arkansas, @ Iowa, @ Minnesota (the 5 P5 teams they play the next 5 years).

Times sure have changed since Ault retired on a 8 year win streak vs UNLV. Beating UNLV regularly used to be a requirement to keep the UNR job but now they've accepted it's a luxury that won't be happening as often.

Let's hope CMA keeps the Cannon RED every year he's here!

* Beating a Power 5 school ($25,000)
* Beating UNLV ($25,000)

That is one

Pretty funny. Reno AD thinks it’s football coach needs an incentive to beat UNLV. The AD is willing to pay extra.

So now Reno is bribing/begging their coach to beat UNLV... SHOULDNT UNLV put a bigger bounty on their head or smalller?

$1 would be funny as hell
Actually. You are right. I’d love every coach to have that in their contract. Beating Reno for a $1 bonus. And if they win, it’s framed and hung in the locker room as a trophy.

It’s a great idea. We beat you, but it’s not a big deal. It’s a great message that feeds into the little brother “don’t call us UNR, we are Nevada” syndrome. If they didn’t care so damn much; my guess is UNLV fans and media would call them Nevada by now. But it’s that they demand it.

The dollar thing is genius. Put it in the contract as an addendum pronto.

It would be my favorite trophy

Just reminded of me Steve Wynn being awarded $1 earlier today on defamation.

I love the idea of unlv collecting $1 over unr during a large stretch of time and having a huge frame filled with bills

https://247sports.com/player/dom-brown-46056271/ I really have no clue why UNLV took him, unless he is a walk on? He has nothing in his bio or recruiting that shows him anything about a junior college level player. The only thing I could find showed him as a Montana State commit, and the way he posted on twitter said he was a commit, but nothing in regards to any scholarship. He is listed as playing one year at Ventura College which tells me that he likely was a commit at Montana State, and didn't qualify for one reason or another. Does anyone else know why he is now a commit at UNLV?

They're so damn petty. Whether it's that show they put on in Reno during Menzies 1st year or this. They've got self-esteem issues.

All of the decades of unr raiding our taxes to get far more money per student on the dime of Clark County, while UNLV struggled to find money, means I will never show any respect for those pieces of shit!
You sir are my brother. Those pieces of shit up North should rot in hell. Any Rebel that doesn't think this way is a gotdamn traitor.
