UCLA and USC appear to me as natural rivals to UNLV, between Las Vegas and LA. The two communities are just "up the road" from each other. It was evident to me, while sitting in SBS, the overwhelming number of Bruin fans in the stands. I'll bet a lot of those blue T-shirts were Bruin fans living in LV. I think there's a great interest in both LA fans and LV fans in games between UNLV and UCLA and USC.

If UNLV needs any kind of goal in developing its football program, it should start now to work toward gaining entry into the Pac-12, because there's a great deal of interest in both communities for LV & LA to compete in football, and UNLV is a natural to be in the Pac-12, not now, but at some future time.

Thinking big is no stranger to Las Vegas; now, that big thinking has to focus on developing the UNLV football program to a level where it can compete in the Pac-12. There's a lot of money to be made there.

The PAC-12 seems to make the most sense. Any move will most likely revolve around 2 things.

Football has to become relevant. We dont have to win 10 games a year but a couple .500 seasons would help

The other is a new stadium.

All that said I think a move to the BIG 12 might be just as possible.
