Huge write up on unlv football, the financials, the momentum etc. Good article by Howard Stutz, spread the word if you can.

Harper, who became UNLV’s athletic director in January 2022 after serving as senior associate athletic director for development for nine years, said success on the field has directly translated to improved finances for the program off the field.

In addition to increased football ticket sales, he said last week that the school has seen a revenue boost from team merchandise sales and private donations sought through the Rebel Up campaign, an effort to raise $150 million to enhance the entire UNLV athletic program.

Nice story!

Nice to get some postive pub out there, but..

"In September, the Rebels beat Vanderbilt on a last-second field goal, marking the first time UNLV defeated a school from the football powerhouse Southeastern Conference"

Just off the top of my head, we beat Vandy in Nashville under Coach Sanchez, not to mention Arkansas in the freaking Las Vegas Bowl. Just saying, easy thing to research.

Same earlier this season. When we were 3-1 and 4-1 one it was labeled as the best start in X amount of years. We freaking started 4-1 last season! Does no one check facts?

Sorry to sidetrack what you are saying but it just reminded me of this. Besides checking facts know the rules. Our own Lady Rebels tv/radio announcer hasn't kept up with the rules changes for this season. Recently he was calling the plays when there was a foul under the basket and he started to talk about the restricted area under the basket and the painted arc on the floor. He doesn't know that was a rule change in Women's basketball. Starting this year the restricted area is no longer applied for block/charge calls. Underneath the rim is now the only area a defender cannot draw a charge. They've just gone back to the rules before there was a restricted area. It's important because you can get people upset when he is telling listeners something other than what a Ref calls. Again, this rule change only applies to the women's game.

Interesting:

This is a factor for sure when it comes to potential P4 inclusion or if the PAC decides to be selective when it comes to rebuilding vs just simply joining the MW.

I'm guessing this does not include streaming only content like MWN or espn+.

We had 5 games on TV this year during the regular season, not sure how other schools faired.

We definitely got a bump from the championship game and Michigan.

CSU probably got 80% of their viewership with the CU game. But they lead the way in the MW.

yeah, it's all about opponent and which games are shown on the national markets. Hence, why Colorado is at the top. And yes, the CSU bump is from their game with CO.

It would actually be a good idea to try to schedule Colorado. They're a good team, but definitely not an unwinnable game, and it would give a lot of media exposure.
