UNLV Football Schedule Changes

Two more of our home games were moved from Saturdays to weekdays now. FBSchedules.com mentions the Raiders having home games both of those Sundays. I really hope this is not a sign of things to come. Late night weekday games are not great for fan attendance.

This will be a one year and done with UNLV FB season tix for me to messy I will settle back to BB only I tried...

The Nov 19 game vs SDSU is the same night as UNLV vs Michigan BB at the T-Mobile lol.
Of course it is 😂😂😂

That works out well for me too since I'll be going to the football game. Except that means it will be 2-1 or 3-1 SDSU fans. So that sucks

Hopefully they make us the early game at T-Mobile
I wonder how far out that will be determined. On AXS tickets site, it shows Friday time of 7pm, but has both games listed. I would be pretty surprised if its 7p and 930p. More likely to be like 4p and 7p, right? Unless it isn't tournament style. If it isn't a tournament or where each team plays 2 games, then UNLV plays either Friday night or Sunday (i think)

Edit: just confirmed on the Roman Main Event site that it the four teams will each play twice, so Rebs play fri and sun regardless. Would like to see them put unlv on earlier. Assuming that Arizona and Wichita St is a more competitive game, so it may be given the bigger stage.

It is 7 PM and 9:30 PM

It was for TV. They switched the games because the MWC and network asked them to switch. UNLV needs to start putting the priority on those buying tickets over a minor TV game, or I am missing something that allows the MWC to force UNLV to switch the game times and day?

And Rebels play at 9:30. They couldn’t get the 7pm time slot at least? Frustrating

Yep, looks like they don’t want us playing the same weekends as the Raiders. This crap should have been figured out a long time ago. You can’t keep having half of our home games during the week every year if you want to have fans in attendance. We have 3 Saturday games this year.

That is such horse$h!t. Here is Houston they can turn around Reliant 3 times in 4 days. I've seen it. Including college games and pro games on consecutive days. And that was laying down 2 sets of sod for each game, not having a pre stored field ready in wings on wheels that will roll over existing floor.

Where there is a will there is a way.

And Covid may be a legit excuse when it comes to cleaning the building, But they were whining about this well before COVID

The article states that UNLV will get reimbursed for moving the game. I wonder if that includes loss of concessions revenue since the fan base can’t be in two places at once!

This is the first time I can remember a major football/basketball conflict like this. Completely unacceptable. When is the university going to comment on this?

They should try to move the basketball game to Saturday.

There is much more wrangling going on behind the scenes between Raiders & UNLV but UNLV just doesn’t have much leverage in this fight. We can thank our elected officials and gaming industry who cut the deal for the Raiders leaving UNLV with little room to negotiate. Until the leadership of this community prioritizes UNLV it will continue to struggle for relevancy.

Between being charged $50 to $150 for parking with no plans in place for buss rides to the stadium, I would say Unlv have got some major issues.

It's telling that we don't have parking fixed. This is not an issue that is too hard to overcome. Our AD has most likely known for months she was gone and she didn't give parking any priority at all. So, here we are. No plan - No AD and nobody stepping forward to fix the issue.

Hire me for a one month contract - give me a 10% commission on revenue and a tad of authority - and I can fix it. So can any one of 100 people in town with experience in transportation and parking.

Assume 35000 attendees

60% get there on their own either parking at the stadium, city busses or transportation from their hotels. Leaving 14000 needing transportation.

Parking area is available of at the T&M.

30 shuttles x 40 fans per shuttle x 6 trips per hour = 7200 fans per hour. Operate 3 hours prior to game time and 2 hours post game.

Income - @ 3 fans per car parked. $ 15 per car = $ $72000 revenue to move 14400 fans.

Expenses - Busses - Each bus for 5 hours with driver = $ 2500 - x 30 busses = $ 75000

Staff - Hire 8 cashiers to stand at the front of T&M parking areas. Hire 12 parking attendants to supervise lines for fans getting on busses ( pre-game at the T&M - Post game at Allegiant) hire 2 supervisors . Total employee expense ( 22 x 5 hours x @ $ 20 = $ 3500 staff pay and expenses ( taxes, workman's comp etc)

Total expenses- Busses $75,000 = staff $3500 = $ 78500

Expenses $ 78500
Income $ 72000

Total cost to UNLV $ 6500 Plus my 10 percent commission on total revenue ( $7200)

This is only one plan. There could be dozens of other workable plans.

The issue is this could be done and it appears nobody is doing it. All it would take is the University President to pick up the phone and assign the task to an assistant.

We already have a CAT bus system being used for Raider games (transport from half a dozen different local station casinos), it is easy enough to set it up, but UNLV is just lazy, and the last AD was sitting on her ass instead of doing her job!

The simple fact is UNLV is sitting on their collective ass and doing nothing regarding the parking situation. The UNLV moto is Greed is Good! They seem far more concerned with selling all the over priced parking at the stadium then doing anything to fix the parking situation for those who do not want to pay more for parking then their tickets cost!

I did not pay one cent more for parking at Allegiant than I paid at Sam Boyd.

I was not grandfathered in. RAF donations determined the parking. A perk of donating.
Just like every team has perks for those who support it. VGK, Raiders, UNLV.

Check the RAF site for the particular perks for each level of donation. The limited parking at the stadium, which was not as bad at Sam Boyd, created a need to prioritize parking for donors.

Pardon me for getting parking for my support. For 50 years. I am sure you will want to support them, if they win enough for you. For now, let others do it, and whine because you don't want to pay.

You’re right! Some people that has payed into the RAF that hasn’t donated enough don’t get the spots. You donate enough you get the spots. Congrats to those that forked out the money unlv wants to get a chance to have a seat at Raiders stadium. Right now you’re paying to sit on your throne at the new palace and not the product on the field. We’ll see if that changes
