The season isn't over...

I’m thinking we get 5000 more locals and 10000 more from out of town. Especially if we become a “team to beat”. Also it would help to add cheaper seats in the upper sections. If we were to get in the big 12, I could see 50,000 as a regular occurrence.

Maybe UCLA next season, but I doubt it. Other than UCLA it would have to be the Boise game next season. Who knows though.
That mean UNLV need to replicates or improves from this year. To achieve that, we need to find another ready to go QB under whomever the OC might be. Our QBs room will be very young next year. Every other positions look nearly as solid as this year.

The big difference is UNLV football should start with 10K plus more fans than they had at the beginning of last season.

I expect to see a notable drop off next season, just because we rely so heavily on seniors, with the majority of them being here at least 2 years if not longer. I'm sure we can do well in the portal. We signed the number 1 portal class I think in G5 this past season and it shows, but it's hard in football to completely reload this way at a high level.

I hope to be wrong. I think we will be good, but I don't know HOW good.

A lot to be determined but we lose ALOT of impact players. And maybe an OC, too. So it’s tough to expect similar results to this year even though I’m sure it’ll be Odom’s full expectation.

I think Odom is a “program coach”…. When the foundation is strong and expectations and accountability are high, the program feeds itself. The seniors teach the youngers. And it just cycles. That’s when you have a national program and that’s we all want.

With that, you get some dips, some highs, but it should be pretty consistent.

I do expect a bit of a dip and reset next season, some growing pains … but I still think we will compete for league and be a bowl team. Just not as good as this year.

Jackson Arnold from OK needs a new home. If Marrion is sticking around he needs to get on the phone with Arnold. A big reach for us but, you never know.

Mateer from WSU is going to jump in the transfer portal and with Arbuckle leaving WSU and taking over as the OC at OK I'm betting that is where Mateer goes.

That is the exact same comment that was made at the end of last season. I never bet against the house or Coach Odom!

Will need to replace much of our OL and have them gel like a seasoned unit. More concerned about that than finding another mobile QB with an ok arm. Would love a mobile QB with an accurate arm. Heard good things about our younger guys but they’ll still be young with less experience. Everything depends on the portal acquisitions but I would guess a slight dip next year, maybe 9-3 or 8-4 but still bowling.

Don't forget this, MW stinks, Odom can coach and bring in kids to win. Outside of Boise. Is Fresno next good program in MWC?

If they are moving to Entz as reported, I think they'll need a year or two of getting right. I think USC has been a big mess with ton of resources, and NDSU was a huge fish in a sink.

They'll be fine, but I dont think it will happen for Fresno in 25 like it did for UNLV in 23

Fresno will be mediocre next year, everyone is transferring, Keene carried them the past few years.
Outside Boise, I dint see other teams stepping back into a true challenger role. Listening to the SJSU insider talk about how they have no NIL money and are going heavy into Juco means they likely take huge steps backwards. It'll be interesting to see if guys jump ship at CSU who apparently had nice offers to go elsewhere...

To quote Lucky Ned Pepper just before he got shot from the movie True Grit: "I call that bold talk from a one eyed fat man"
I'm not one-eyed. Take that back. 🤣

I get that it's a bold prediction, but I was calling 10 wins this season (in a smart alec'ey way) but it came to fruition. I think that we will continue to grow.

Also, of note, Odom and Luogo's sons both committed here. Neither do if they already know.

You looked one eye to me from what I could tell...

Im saying this as a joke kinda..

But mobile accurate athletic QB s don't play at G5s. And if they do it's not for long. Like Dampier at UNM.

Kidding aside a bunch of experienced (some a little flawed) QBs have entered the portal.

No I do not want this guy but, would it be the worst thing to land Mikey Keene from Fresno? Again not top of my list by any means but an experienced guy with decent production.

And affordable and then you could stack the team with players around him...

Last night was an extremely tough pill to swallow. Very tough loss and going 0-3 vs Boise over the last year makes it worse.

We couldn’t beat Boise and likely would have gotten creamed in the CFP. This team wasn’t ready for that stage but a 10 win season and a likely spot in the LA Bowl is still a great season. Though it’s amazing that I’m somewhat disappointed with a 10 win season.

At some point we got to start winning some hardware. Where ever the bowl game is, UNLV has to win that one. We need to start filling up the football facility with hardware. That’s the last hurdle for this program, and remains to be seen if Odom will be the guy to get there.

LA bowl now projected to Colorado State.

I’m confident in CBO and his staff (although Marion still needs some growth). We have the right foundation and staff on place. We need to improve at (1) QB and (2) OL at a minimum.

Agree.
OL will need to be a few additions through portal. QB a ton just hit the portal. Who UNLV targets will depend on Marion's future here. Will be surprised if we see a year three.
