Texas Tech revenue share

There is a business opportunity out there. Super Camps that take kids and get them recruited by P4. I know there are camps now, but there will be hundreds of thousands more dad's trying to get their kids one on these bonanzas. If you can show you get kids in, then there is $$ to be made.

While they don’t earn more annually than Joe earns weekly from this site, no way G’s can compete with the P4.

I’ll be honest, if I’m a parent, my son is staying all four years (5 or 6 if he’s lucky and gets hurt. 🤣 )
Long snapper, punter, or kicker. You tell them they have 5 years to finish 6 years of school. Their bachelors can be in basket weaving or whatever the path of least resistance is; but their grad degree better be in something useful.

I believe I read that all B12 schools are going to provide the maximum revenue sharing of 20.5 million. That is the max allowed. If they want to provide more money for athletes that will still come from NIL. Now, not all the B12 schools earn that kind of revenue to say 22% is 20.5 million but, they all are going to do it in order to compete for the best athletes. Harper had mentioned that we would go into revenue sharing but we may only do the 22% of our revenue which someone on this board had posted an amount of about $6 million. If we can do just that amount that will put us at a competitive advantage over other G5 schools. I believe Memphis is going to be doing the same.

Are they still going to give them scholarships?
Nothing is changing regarding scholarships that I've heard.

edit: Forgot that the number of football scholarships will be going up from 85 to 105. I'm guessing if you play football now you might be concerned that those extra 20 scholarships will take a cut of your revenue sharing.

I can't remember where, but I did see something recently that a school, or maybe a state, was working on a bill to take away scholarships from athletes making over a certain amount in their NIL or revenue sharing agreements.

They were discussing B12 yesteday, specifically CU on local sports radio, and also being able to continue to supplement with NIL on top of what schools will pay. CU and other schools have disbanded their collectives.

On another CU note, wonder who will be coaching them next season?

If a coach is fired and paid what is remaining on their contact, but then takes another job the former school only ends up paying the difference after the new salary. So if coach is owed 3 million per for 2 more seasons and takes a job making 1 million then the former school is on the hook for 2 million not 3.

So it makes sense that if a school is paying an athlete that the amount of the scholarship is exceeded then the scholarship is no longer paid unless its negotiated, scholly plus 100k.

At the end of the day I guess it doesnt matter it will be what is the total package and doesnt matter how its paid out, except I guess taxes would come into play?

They will still be doing the NIL but directly from the University. Agreeing with what you said I believe.

edit: To be clear the revenue sharing will be separate from the NIL. And, CU will also be the one stop for handling NIL.
