Everyone is asking about Sluka - I know a lot are hopeful with crossed fingers, but all I can get from people is - “Not sure”.
If not then we keep pressing on, I am not one for an endless debate about a guy that might not even consider us.

Sluka is still on his visit in Vegas as we speak. If he leaves without a commit it doesn't look great, but he probably has quite a few visits offered to go through.
He changed his name on here two or three times and even banned himself. This is golden!
We've all been wrong at times despite getting information 5 minutes ago that was 100% accurate at that time.

Some differences between Sluka and Maiava. Sluka is listed as an inch shorter and a tad lighter , but when you see him on the field compared to other players he just looks even smaller. Maiava is willing to throw into coverage that Sluka will avoid. Sluka can throw a long ball, but Maiava seems to throw it with less effort. The edge to accuracy of passes goes to Sluka. Maiva will run, but Sluka is at another level when he decides to run. Many more planned positive running plays for Sluka. Obviously Sluka is much more experienced - but against considerably lower level competition.
I would have loved to see Maiava stay here for his entire time in college ball career. But that just isn't the way it works any more. I think, if he does come, we'll be in great shape with Sluka and the football should be more exciting due to his running ability.

Stuka is who we need to more assuredly exceed last year’s season.
Maiava's experience before coming to UNLV was against high schools. It didn't seem to hurt him too much.
He had 320 something yards vs Army. 170 yards rushing.
Posted similiar numbers vs Boston College.
One of my best high school friends played against similar titans of FCS and then lead the NFL in tackles a couple years later.
Williams and Sluka can battle it out in the spring, May the best man win! Competition is good for UNLV football going forward!

59-15 TD to INT ratio for Sluka in his career.

If he's able to protect the ball like that for UNLV this season and defense takes the jump it should with additions no reason Rebs shouldn't be hosting MWC title game again.
