Sling TV Getting Live College Sports Add-On Pack

Sling TV is bringing even more college football your way, sports fans.

The service, which lets you watch live TV online without a cable subscription, on Monday announced plans to add the college sports-focused Campus Insiders network to its $5 "Sports Extra" add-on pack. This gives fans of the Mountain West Conference, Patriot League, West Coast Conference, and the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association the chance to watch their teams play live on the big screen — for the first time.

"Campus Insiders deepens our college sports offering with conferences that, until today, have been underserved when it comes to watching games live," Sling TV CEO Roger Lynch said in a statement. "Everyone deserves the chance to root for their favorite team on the big screen, and we are proud to be the first to offer these fans that premium experience with Sling TV."

Lynch added that people "flock to Sling TV for live sports," and said the company has seen "incredible viewership" on its sports channels every Saturday, as college football ramps up.

The new channel will air "hundreds of live sporting events," covering football, basketball, baseball, volleyball, soccer and more from the previously mentioned college conferences. That includes the inaugural NOVA Home Loans Arizona Bowl on Dec. 29, the Seth Davis Show, and other studio shows covering highlights and footage from all major conferences.

The Sling Sports Extra pack is $5 extra per month with a $20 "Best of Live TV" subscription. Sling TV hasn't yet announced a launch date for Campus Insiders on Sling TV, but promised more info "soon."
