Probably the “best” 2-9 team in the country. Pretty sure they had a lead in 7 of the 9 losses. Decent amount of sacks and INT’s from the defense that has been nonexistent in years past. This team is so close to being a decent team.

They played a top 20 team straight up for the entire game. If this team continues to improve along the same pace, they will have a winning record next season!

It was a brutal miss. Could have come into play. I’m doubtful because we had trouble punching it in once we got deep and we’d have had to do that twice to tie it.

Still, they can’t miss that.

I forget which legendary coach said something to the effect about developing a winning football program (Bobby Bowden???):

1. Lose big
2. Narrow losses
3. Narrow victories
4. Big wins

I have been a big doubter of Arroyo but I believe that we may be in phase 1.5. Hopefully next season is 2.7, then the season after is 3.4.

Justin Roger finally justified his position and ranking in this game. Holy smoke! That was the best showing from the QB position I have witnessed at UNLV. Friel was good as well before he went out. Arroyo is going to have a choice next year, especially if Roger does well at AFA next week.
