Just watched the highlights on YouTube. Looks like a way better atmosphere than the men’s games. Looking forward to taking my daughter who is just getting into basketball.

My advice to Lindy, lol, get the ball in Lott's hands in those last few minutes when we need those free throws in the basket. She is money at the free throw line. We could have added some height under the basket for defense with Brackens. Duraza-Frescas is too short to be defending there in those final minutes. Brackens is tough and adds that height we needed. Not sure why we didn't see her in there. A good competitive game as expected overall with two teams fighting for 1st place. Nice crowd as well. On to NM for another battle. Go Lady Rebels!
New Mexico, played good defense on the Lady Rebels.
The downfall, was that they were 4-12, from the free throw line.
That, killed them. We also, locked down on their 3 pointers.
Cumber, only had 12 points for UNM.

Turnovers and shooting kept the game close. UNM didn’t hit free throws, but we could’ve played much better.
I missed the game. Watched a movie with my roommate called John Wick. I’ve never seen the series before in my life. 10/10!! No wonder it has like 4 sequels.
It is going to take a pretty big splash likely in order to get the credit unfortunately.
A big time regular season win against a top 15 opponent, or more importantly making noise in the tournament.
Our less than great showing in the tourney last year didn't do us many favors. Was it an unfair seeding? Probably, but our showing didn't do much to change that narrative.
The have and have not gap with women's basketball is exponentially bigger than men's. A huge different between the top 5 and top 15, and it gets bigger the further down the line you go. The unfortunate truth is that the MW is a weak league in women's. The Lady Rebs did a good job by going out and beating teams for better conferences, but again it'll take probably a more noteworthy win to get that respect.

Right now they are # 32 NET ranking. They can lose another game a stay close to that. And winning won't raise them much because all their opponents suck. A # 32 will get them in with a low seed.
Charlie Creme's ESPN bracketology (Feb 2nd) and Herhoopstats.com bracketology (Feb 1) both have them as 7 seeds right now. Maybe a little shake will happen after the win @ UNM.

The Coaches Poll, comes out on Tuesday, not Monday.
Couldn't believe UNLV wasn't ranked in the AP Top 25.
When a week ago, we were #26 receiving votes and was again #26 this week,
after wins against Wyoming and @ UNM.
UNLV only beat Oklahoma by 16 at Oklahoma. Okalhoma at #25 with 6 losses says everything about the polls. UNLV you win by at least 30, they will give the thumbs up to the major conference school 9 out of 10 times.
It's not fair. Plus, Oklahoma lost to Southern at home to. And, didn't get penalized for it.
The same program, our men's team lost to.
To make it worse Oklahoma jumped us again but this time in the Coaches Poll. They moved to #25 and we were booted out. We are no longer ranked. Real nice.
The eyeball test is we lost to Air Force by 40 at home.
Even the coaches think we suck. You’re not fooling anybody.

have you guys noticed the hate that Caitlyn Clark gets from other black athletes like Sheryl Swoopes?

Swoopes definitely is an all-time great player. The part that bugged me with her is not that she was factually incorrect by saying Clark is not a true senior, played more than 4 years, shoots 40 times/game and that she's a 25-year old playing against 20-year old. (I agree that records should be based on a 4-year model. Hell, Maravich did his in 3 IIRC.)
My issue with her is that when shown all her statements were wrong, she called those who challenged her "ignorant". All she had to do was say, oops, my bad. Can't handle being wrong. None of us are perfect.
Saw, two white women, wearing a t-shirt saying, "Don't be a Sheryl", at an Iowa game.
And, a lot of black women, found this to be offensive by it.
It sounds, like a race thing. I hope not.
