Jackson ready to give Rebels defense a boost

Looking at some of the key defensive players that have joined UNLV, they have the talent, now they need to show on the field that they can take the next step and help win some games. If the defense plays to the level they are capable of reaching, I could see them going to a bowl game. Armani looked much better in the last practice and definitely show improvement over last season! Time to win!

Just thinking about this - and I haven't looked it up or anything - it seems like our opponents have scored on drives more often than they have punted or turned it over, over the last several seasons. It sounds ridiculous, but if our defense can force opponents to punt or turn the ball over more than 50% of the time, we should be in great shape.

Agree. An occasional 3 and out would be nice.

Either the defense is fixed this season, and that no longer happens, or they will go down in flames this season!

We get Reno Armani most games and the defense can shave about 10 PPG against off.

Rebs go bowling.

But both have to happen.

Defense should be better with a few of the additions, guys improving and another year in Skips system.

We'll know by week four if enough improvement has been made.
