Hi Marvin,

Great job coaching tonight against Boise State. It's clear to me that you have recognized that, for some ungodly reason, Mountain West teams DOMINATE us. I'm so happy that you have instilled this into your boys so that we dont get raped in MWC play anymore. We Rebel fans are so happy. It really showed tonight.

Thank you for playing Jovan Mooring so much tonight. He was an absolute weapon. I mean, I've never seen someone hog the ball as much as he does with such an amazing amount of points to show for it.

Also, thank you for not coaching your players to get the ball into Juiston for more for touches down low. I like how you were trying to play it coy. If you gave Juiston the ball more, you would have made him a defensive target. What a mastermind you are.

Oh, and thank you for your solid game plan against that Boise zone. It was marvelous watching the boys look befuddled all night.

Yeah, one last thing: great job instilling rebounding toughness into our guys tonight. We were absolutely DOMINATING that glass.

Solid game plan all around, Marvin. Keep it up.

I find the sarcasm dripping from your post ineffectual. You’re free to lay this at the feet of Coach Menzies, if you like, but the fact is that the better team won. Their experience was too much for the young Rebels. Marvin couldn’t teach wisdom overnight.

Our team will improve. They will learn how to handle adversity. But time and game action are the only ways to get there. You want to crucify the coach after one tough loss? The bandwagon is leaving the station. Be sure to get yourself a ticket.

Some of us will be here, through the losses and the wins. And we’ll even support Coach Menzies, despite your vitriol. Because he’s the Rebel’s coach, and we are Rebel supporters. Our record in conference is 0-1. Not a huge surprise. We’ll win our share, but this one wasn’t in the cards.

It was disheartening to see us go back to our bad habits. Our strength is our inside game: Juiston and McCoy. Foul out then entire opposing team if you have to but get the ball inside. Good things will happen. They were a combined 17-23 from the field.

Don't know what happened to the rebounding. Also if we don't show more confidence in using our bench players we're going to be absolutely gassed by the time Feb rolls around. We need to run at least 8 deep because 6 isn't going to cut it. I would've thought that the easy pre-season schedule would've given our guys enough experience to contribute once conference play began. Very dissappointing game.

Still just the first game. Sucks but there are 8 games in January, and IMO they are all games the team should win (that does include 4 road games however). If this team can beat the teams it should beat, it could be enough to even get to first place.

If the team goes 5-3 or worse in those games then it’s going to get ugly. A 6-2 record could easily happen and that wouldn’t be good enough IMO, but going 7-1 or 8-0 will be a challenge.

That’s also a lot of games so the team will have a lot more experience by the time it gets to the tougher part of the schedule in February.

The team averaged over 91 ppg in the nonconference games and the bench was still scoring very little in those games. The starters did almost all the scoring.

Combined record of all opponents before the Boise game was like 51-106. It's fair to say we have no idea what this team is really all about. Two of those teams haven't even sniffed a win yet. I still think a top 3 finish is in the cards, but winning the conference? Nope. Not enough competition for Boise and the trailer park boys up north. They'll run through conference play and the rebels will stutter with teams like Colorado state and wyoming. Welcome to another year of basketball. The progress looks good, at least (it couldn't possibly have gotten worse) and hopefully next years non con schedule is a little better. Or a lot better. Seriously, two of those teams might not win a game all season.

We are a mediocre team with no depth. We're soft, cant shoot the three reliably, and are unable to play decent defense. That's what we are, and that's the best we can be this year. I was hoping in my heart for an NCAA appearance. At this point, any post season play is remote.

Has CMM addressed the question of our lack of bench play? Has anyone asked him? It seems like an obvious question. Yet I've not heard any word from the man who would have the answers.
