Because according to you people never improve, never learn from their mistakes. We are all exactly what we will be at 17 and 18. No coach, team, player ever gets better. Of course for overwhelming evidence that it does all of the time. But that takes patience and us Rebel fans need instant gratification because we are too good to wait and earn it. Like everyone else.
I agree he lacks wowing measurables. But thing is QB is the one position where that doesn't matter, with the exception of needing to make certain throws.
Maiava can make all of throws. There are plenty of cases where QBs make it to the NFL with strong upperclassmen seasons. Playing as back ups. In fact there may be more cases of that in recent memory over multi year starters.
I am not saying he is a sure fire NFL player. I just think it is too early to say as a sopthroes.
Time will tell. Sure they have a stud QB prospect coming in, but they let that same level of player go to bring in Maiava this past off-season. He should be more worried about a transfer TBH.
Barnarbie? Come on Joe. Can you ever make a point without a ridiculous comparison? Maiava was a solid 3-4 star recruit (was out highest ever recruit at the time) who had P5 interest. Then was in a bidding war between 2 of the biggest programs in college football. JB was a complete unknown.
Please, tell me the actual backdrop of him going to USC since you seem to know … there were other reasons … if you know, you know, if you don’t, you don’t.
You put words in my mouth, stating that I said he sucks when you’ll never find that.
Rebel fans don’t need instant gratification, but I think slow growth for basketball is the lamest, biggest loser attitude ever. Get. It. Done. Odom did it, why not basketball? The thing is, according to you, EVERY hire for hoops is good and we need to wait at least 4 years before we have an inkling as to whether it might be worth extending or maybe we can just now start thinking about firing them. In the mean time, fans don’t renew tickets, record low attendance which is “cozy” to you, we won one more game than the year before and we smoked Bethesda by 59, so there is evidence of “slow growth”. It’s a low bar for success, excuse laden philosophy that has torpedoed our once proud program into complete insignificance.
You can support a team and think they suck and have no immediate future. That’s not a bad fan. It’s an honest fan. All these cheesy, smarmy, aw shucks, mediocrity fostering excuses are why the program nosedived. The admin satisfied you and that’s all they needed. People happy with the slide downhill. They hated the fans that wanted more because it made their job tougher, it wanted results and accountability. They wanted you because you we ok with it. That’s why Marv was a good coach, Otz was good and Kevin is succeeding. The low bar setters like you.
Odom did it, Lindy did it - worse starting points, worse situation, worse budget. But aw, sucks, let’s give out five year contracts and maybe extend them for 500 records. That’s rich.
