So commenting on the Morgan thread. Seems like a good pool would be: Who will be Dave Rice's first full 4 year player? From recruiting allllllll the way through his senior year.

Lets assume Rice will be here that long.
And next year would be his 4th year.

Guess Cook is the front runner so far?

After that have the +GPA/walk-ons (Rushman and Cheaney), they don't really count. Actually beyond Cook seems we're at the freshman? I'm actually a bit shocked looking at the roster this way.

Recruiting top 100 players is a volatile game in an already volatile world of college basketball. I think Dave will curb the exits and we will see a much greater degree of roster consistency over the next few years. I think the impact of top players increases almost exponentially when they stay more than a year and have other more experienced players around them as freshma. That is why Cody Doolin was such a valuable addition.

was cody doolin a valuable addition? I mean apart from his terrible defense, propensity for awful fouls and complete failure to handle the ball against a press I guess hes been average but hes no savior

I don't see Dave leaving with roughly 50 to 75% of his salary like Bobby did with his brand new contract. No I don't know the exact figures for bobby but he did willingly take a hit in his guaranteed money from the school.

You are just guessing, which is all you can do because the situation has not presented itself. Rice is in nowhere near the hell that was Rebel Football when Hauck gave it up.
