At least 11 total which would be top 3. Which is good because I don’t like blah play in rounds for the MWCT.
But if youre top 3, a few games back of 1st, to me it’s not some huge accomplishment at all. More than half the conference will be sub 200 and the rest sub 100, so at that point, you’re finishing on the top or near the top of a pile of garbage. It doesn’t get you anywhere significant in the grand scheme. It gives quick bites that can be used by the university to pump things. Whoopee. I don’t sink my teeth into spin.
Quick, who finished 2nd in the WAC last season? Anyone? Anyone? Beuller? Beuller? Beuller?
I checked. Utah Valley with 20 wins, 96 RPI, SOS 137, 2 games back of first from NMSU. WAC was #15. That could very well be us (we’d probably be a bit lesser). So being as good as Utah Valley last season, eh, doesn’t really do a ton for me personally. For some perhaps, not me.
But I don’t need those comparative numbers to know what I’m seeing with my own two eyes. We can wait until the end of the season to say the conference is terrible (a very significant 6-8 spot drop from last years poor conference) or, I can call it by what is very, very apparent, something that Hank could see if he put his patch on the wrong eye. It’s really bad basketball.
