I have stayed away since the losing string picked up steam. I am a little surprised, but the last 7 games have been as bad as UNLV has looked over the last decade. The simple fact is that coach Sanchez was fired after a 4-8 season in which they beat unr and won the last two games of the season. Arroyo took over a 4-8 program and didn't win a single game in his first season going 0-6, showed minimal improvement in the second season with wins over Hawaii and New Mexico, and were really lucky to beat unr in a 5-7 season where they had the game won and did everything possible to give it away at the end. The only thing worse that a 6 game losing streak would have been a 7 game losing streak, and they only missed that by 1 play. Playing a prevent defense at the end of the game to not lose instead of to win the game in a way speaks volumes in regards to his coaching.
Again I am surprised he was fired, not sure if it was or wasn't the right move, and now we will need to wait and see what happens in regards to a new coach. It better be a huge hire otherwise they will have stabbed themselves in the foot again!
