Figures are off.Are you saying this isn't true? I hope not!
I assume anything is possible, especially since the local rags didn’t even bother to look into Krugers contract and there was actually another year added to the deal unbeknownst to ANYONE.Wrong numbers.
Wrong assumptions, ie, he will be here next year.
Of course he does! I thought Graney found something else to do but I guess not. 🤣Graney wants him back!!!

Graney: UNLV should give Kruger fifth year to run program
Kevin Kruger has led a UNLV men’s basketball team beset by injuries this season and has held things together to win six of the past eight games.www.reviewjournal.com
Now you're taking it to the extreme.I’m going to start donating checks to Reno
The fact that Kruger’s son gets 2.3 million for this steaming pile of turd..I assume anything is possible, especially since the local rags didn’t even bother to look into Krugers contract and there was actually another year added to the deal unbeknownst to ANYONE.
However if the 2.3 million figure is correct, there’s zero chance he’s getting canned. Ultimately he gets another season and we’ll go from there.
CKK is secure but not so sure his staff is.
Bruh..do you like anime besides comics?Maybe he's just going all in on football and seeing if we can earn a major upgrade conference-wise? We all know basketball isn't going to move the needle in those regards.
I hope the publisher is plugged in on this one.. I know none of us know for sure but Kevin has run his course here, he should be cut loose next Thursday morning!Figures are off.
Probabilities of final outcome is off.
Key words!2.35 million buyout is the roadblock. My understanding is that is the correct number, CKKs contract was clearly structured to ensure security for him.
Multiple articles out now throwing cold water on the fire Kruger brigade. I don’t think he’s getting canned.
It won't be Thursday morning... we're likely going to beat AFA and then we play in the 8:30 game Thursday night...so Friday morningI hope the publisher is plugged in on this one.. I know none of us know for sure but Kevin has run his course here, he should be cut loose next Thursday morning!
I’ll take it! LolIt won't be Thursday morning... we're likely going to beat AFA and then we play in the 8:30 game Thursday night...so Friday morning
That’s a big if.I assume anything is possible, especially since the local rags didn’t even bother to look into Krugers contract and there was actually another year added to the deal unbeknownst to ANYONE.

Hey you wanna put a friendly wager?
Kruger gets canned, you take for me lunch/dinner, if Kruger keeps his job..
I’ll show you my sex video..
Win/lose situation all around..
No it’s out there. I did it as a prank and put on a boxing website. Here you go! This is his sex video that was sent over by an unnamed source!![]()
Many here still have hope of a firing next week!CKK is not going anywhere. UNLV does not have $2.3M for a buyout. Hell UNLV does not have any $$ for a buyout. The Athletic Dept. is deep in the red. Pay the slightest attention to the Board of Regent meetings (I know, painful) and you’ll find all you need to know. Unless a booster(s) steps up nothing is changing, which means nothing is changing. What you should be more concerned about is making sure the promises made in the football program are kept.
You don't understand how athletic departments work... they almost all operate in a deficit. The BOR can scream and yell about deficits but they don't have a say anymore on how athletic departments operate. They can grandstand in meetings all they want about finances in their meetings, but the current title 4 statute cedes direct control over institutions to university president's and athletics departments. If Harper wants to fire him, they'll find the money to do so.CKK is not going anywhere. UNLV does not have $2.3M for a buyout. Hell UNLV does not have any $$ for a buyout. While I know there is a single story out about an extension and buyout, why would we believe that the buyout would be that huge for a lower level paid basketball coach? That is a football coach level buyout. I will wait and see what the truth really is, and take the RJ story with a grain of salt!CKK is not going anywhere. UNLV does not have $2.3M for a buyout. well we know ed graney still hasn't waivered. He would give Kruger a 10-year extension for whatever reason https://www.reviewjournal.com/sport...ive-kruger-fifth-year-to-run-program-3317227/I hope the publisher is plugged in on this one.. Because Harper thought Kevin would be an NCAA tournament coach and his Dad's connections would get him a job at a P4 school after 1 successful year. We would get a nice payday to hire next coach...While I know there is a single story out about an extension and buyout, why would we believe that the buyout would be that huge for a lower level paid basketball coach? I would say that this lesson is 1 year too late, but in reality, it was 3 years too late. This approach every year has been a major limitation of our offense every year. What a relief that we will get to enjoy this style of ball for another year at least!
In all honesty, I hope he’s learned from his mistakes of allowing one player to play one-on-one while the other guys stand around and watch. Move without the ball and you’ll open up opportunities.
HahaNow you're taking it to the extreme.
Please step away from the ledge, take a deep breath, and think about what you're saying.
Even without a successful year, if the connections are right, you can elevate. See Otz.Because Harper thought Kevin would be an NCAA tournament coach and his Dad's connections would get him a job at a P4 school after 1 successful year. We would get a nice payday to hire next coach...
Because CKK has 2 years left and his salary is 800k, meaning UNLV would be on the hook for at least 1.6 million. While I know there is a single story out about an extension and buyout, why would we believe that the buyout would be that huge for a lower level paid basketball coach? Just keep him. Give him an office with a desk and a phone. ( locate in the baseball complex) Set a 40 hour week and require a detailed analysis of 5 different team defenses a week . Save $800, 000.Because CKK has 2 years left and his salary is 800k, meaning UNLV would be on the hook for at least 1.6 million.
Why 2.3 million? I’m assuming that Krugers agent and Harper agreed to tack on a penalty (if fired or poached before June) equivalent to a years salary in exchange for the extra year. Keep in mind the buyout goes both ways.
Lon has always been smart with contracts, so the fact there was an extension and significant buyout written in doesn’t surprise me at all with Kevin. All it says to me is that the Krugers heavily value security, ie monetary and long term residence. I really don’t believe Kevin wants to live anywhere else, he’s already got roots set here with kids and their grandparents around.
The 2.3 million dollar buyout really hamstrings Harper, I don’t believe he will make a move because that will put more pressure on Harper’s future here. I know he did great with Odom and Mullen, so there’s literally no incentive to blow through cash to make a change in basketball. The smart move is to just play this out another year. The available coaching pool isn’t that great this year.
I like Harper a lot, but man, the buyouts have been bad.Because CKK has 2 years left and his salary is 800k, meaning UNLV would be on the hook for at least 1.6 million.

I thought OTZ was poached?I like Harper a lot, but man, the buyouts have been bad.
Otz got bought out for a little over 3 mil. Basically the complete value of his contract.
Odom gets poached with a buyout of 3 mil, on a contract that had around 8 mil value left on it.
Mullen can get poached tomorrow for 6 mil with nearly 17.5 mil left on his contract.
But somehow CKK has a 2.3 mil buyout after 4 years with maybe 1.6 left in contract worth?
He did. But buyouts are buyouts. Poached or fired they are the same.I thought OTZ was poached?
I dont think raising the funds is the problem. I think the boosters are upset they're being asked to foot a bill of 2.3 million rather than 700k they thought was the buyout or were led to believe at some point.... sounds like a power struggle between an AD who was hoping no one noticed his first action as acting AD was a dumb one, and boosters who want change but dont want to foot the bill. How can we not raise the money to buy him out
After borrowing money from a friend, say 20 bucks, are you going to succeed in asking for 40 dollars right after that? Not likely. From the LVRJ article, sounds like the money people are frustrated with the lack of results given their financial support. I think they would be hesitant to pull the trigger on 2.35 million for an unknown situation (search). How can we not raise the money to buy him out
They don’t want to foot the bill for an unknown situation. If Harper has someone elite lined up, that obviously changes the dynamics of the situation.I dont think raising the funds is the problem. And in all likelihood a worse result. Who is he going to bring in on staff given everyone knows he's got 1 year and he's fired. What players are going to sign on knowing the coach isn't here long term? Yes, we will have ability to bring innplayers, there's always bodies to fill a roster in the portal, but look at this year's transfers and ask yourself, are we going to get better ones? They don’t want to foot the bill for an unknown situation. If Harper has someone elite lined up, that obviously changes the dynamics of the situation.
That being said. All signs point to the return of CKK returning one more season. New roster and probably new staff.
The basketball team will be lucky to win even 10 games next season if Kevin is retained. This entire roster will be gone, Kruger recruits like shit, and even worse is that he has no idea how to develop the players he has. Talk about a disaster if Kevin is really coming back. They don’t want to foot the bill for an unknown situation. I hate to say it, but if he were to come back, I expect you’re right. I don’t think it’d be 10 games, he’d win more than that, it’s easy to control that part of it, just play 8 really weak OOC teams and you are going to get 6 in conference as long as the team shows up on time for tipoff. The basketball team will be lucky to win even 10 games next season if Kevin is retained.
