I keep coming back here trying to find a reason to get excited this year, this board averages 2 posts a week.

The Football Board gets 10 times the traffic.

I guess i could join the Confidential board so i can see all the Confidential posts.
1. Menzzies interview (top seceret???)
2.New Mexico???
3. Arkansas State???

Why has the normal Chat become so secretive?

There is some "inside" info but most of it is out there on twitter etc if you are willing to do the research.

Mostly it is arguments back and forth on the semantics of how bad we suck and how screwed we all really are.

For a while most of the level headed talk was over here on the Tark board.

Truth is the staff is tight lipped, so probably won't be much talk until the season begins.

Just like the dead football forum from a couple of years back, everyone is waiting to see if the team shows more improvement this year in comparison to last season. The good news is that the team improved from 11-21 (4-14 conference) in 2016-2017 to a record of 20-13 in 2017-2018 (8-10 conference). The bad news is the team still had a losing in conference record, and played a very weak out of conference schedule.

With all of the new players, and unproven big guys, it is hard to know what direction this team will go? There is some talent, but the biggest question is if Menzies is able to get the team to play together as a team and not just as a bunch of individual stars.

The team will not only needs to win almost all of the out of conference schedule (very weak), but they also need to become relevant in the conference to bring people back on board and to get traffic back to this forum.

This is an uphill battle. UNLV isn't a basketball school anymore. It hasn't been a hot ticket for a long time. Its a school with struggling basketball and football in a city that now has many entertainment options and a student body that is disinterested. Some students aren't even prideful about the school that they attend.

DRF has about the toughest job in the MWC.
