I see that Colorado State is hosting San Diego State this evening. My off-shore sports-book has SDSU as a 7.5-point favorite. No total yet. I suppose that’s fairly accurate in guessing the outcome. I’ll probably pass, although I’m tempted to take the Rams. Home dogs are generally good investments.
I know Colorado St. is a pretty weak team this season. They have an 8-7 record, 1-1 in conference play both road games. Predictably getting blown out by Boise, while getting by San Jose St in their last game. In their OOC match-ups, they ran mostly to form. Fattening-up on weak sisters, while being torched by better foes. They did manage to get a pac-12 win, knocking off their cross-state rival Colorado.
But, my leaning in their direction has little to do with their record. It’s my respect for Larry Eustachy as a coach, that has me considering them here. I just find it difficult to believe that he can’t find a way to get maximum effort from his players. He usually does.
SDSU also carries a 1-1 conference record into this game. They disposed of Utah St on their home floor, rather handily, winning by 20. But they lost convincingly in their opener, traveling to Laramie, where the Wyoming Cowboys got a 13-point win.
Go Rebels!
