Anyone else pulling for Boise next week?

They're going to get beat by 4 TDs... not just being a hater, Penn St. Just manhandled SMU and is a really good team
Definitely could've been 4 TDs..this game was a vision into Boises future when Madsen has to play QB and not just hand off to Jeanty... 3 picks, tough night..

Glad to see BSu lose and Jeanty not surpass Sanders.
MWC finishes 1-4 in bowl games.

Agree on both especially with the Barry "Heisman" Sanders one! Since he played 3 more games and still finished 131 yds short of the record or 360 yds with 2 more games if you include the Bowl Game which they didn't back then. SMH

I'm sorry but the MWC finished 2-1.. The PAC finished 0-3

NIU is joining the MWC therefore it counts for the MWC.

I assure you PAC fans would have been crowing about Boise if they had won and been yapping about them being part of the new PAC.

From everything I have read, it does appear NIU is going to join the MWC, which would be a great boost for the conference and close the gap on the PAC.

Boise got bullied pretty bad last night, doesn’t look like they were ready for their physical style of play. They did the best they could as a program with limited resources compared to Penn State.

After recalculating the metrics, the Pac has decided that UNLV meets them. Please join the Pac-7?

All I care about is whether BSU did enough to keep a G5 with a spot in the CFP. Personally I’m glad they lost since they’re part of the group that felt UNLV wasn’t worth the initial invite. Now I just want CDM to build UNLV into a juggernaut that crushes all PAC teams and is the dominant team out west by a long shot.
Edit: That’s my New Year wish!

You got that right. It was BSU and SDSU who did not think UNLV metrics are good enough. F*ck looks like child play of a Fiesta Bowl yesterday. Totally embarrassing being in the same conference. UNLV could have done a little better.

Sorry Trip, we couldn't have. Penn State way too big and athletic up front.

That was never in question. It's contractually obligated to include the top 5 conference championship. It's seeding and right now, it looks like having a bye week isn't great for teams.

Yeah PSU didn’t say to themselves hey let’s allow Boise to drive down the field and get within a field goal at the start of the 4th quarter. Boise actually had more yards but they couldn’t seal the deal with two missed FG’s and a TD called back. That called back TD they stopped them three and out and drove down for a FG. At that point it should have been a tied game but they made too many mistakes. PSU clearly better but it wasn’t a blowout name your score as some are saying. That was the SMU game.

Hey, love what we’ve done with football. Ain’t complaining about the number of wins, our style, our players.

But we get our asses smashed playing the tops of the power conferences. It’s not a contest.

Looking at the field this year.

I think Rebs could have hung with SMU. Maybe Indiana. Might have been able to give ASU a decent game. But I don't think we win any of them.

We get bodied by everyone else though. Too big, too fast..

I think we could have beaten SMU or Indiana I would favor them but a win wouldn’t be shocking.

I think our defense was good enough to stop Indiana who struggled against anyone with a decent record. That said, by the end of the year, Hajj wasn't throwing well enough to win any of those games. We became really one dimensional and a 1 read passing offense

I agree Hajj would have to revert to form to win.

After ASU gets their asses handed to them, and I want them to win(**** Texas) the committee will have a very easy decision to make and make the 1-4 seeds the best 1-4 teams next year. It’s all new and they will make tweaks when needed. This will be this first.
Ended up being a great game. I thought they had it won 4th and 13.

trip I dunno if you are drunk from new years but we would have gotten obliterated by 80 points. PennnState would have loaded the box and destroy our entire offensive line.

ASU was 100% in that game. I was surprised they were able to match Texas' speed and physicality.

Boise definitely weathered the initial storm and then outplayed PSU for a good chunk of that game. They were moving the ball and limiting PSU to short drives. They just kept shooting themselves in the foot and couldn't convert when they needed to.
Penn State was the better team, that is for sure, but it was a competitive game.
It felt a lot like the Peach bowl. Similar lopsided start, with it changing momentum. except ASU was converting drives, converting 4th downs, and able to finally start punching it in, Boise couldn't quite get there.
That with ASU nearly pulling off the upset, and Oregon getting boatraced, I don't think there is enough evidence to totally change the rules because obviously the current format is broken.
Those "poor" teams that had to play that first round with big homefield advantages that all won their games and used that momentum for the quarterfinals, did just fine.
I still like rewarding conference champions, with giving superconferences that small disadvantage for chasing the money of the Big 2.

BSU's kicker, Judge Smails, set the tone early by slicing into the woods on what should've been a routine FG on their first drive. Then he doubles down and Norwoods his second attempt from closer. Nice time to have your worst career game. Lights were a little bright for someone.
