Memphis and Tulane might be able to do it alone, but would they want to if they're still thinking they may get into the ACC or Big 12? It would be a tough decision taking into account the risk with the unknown media deal and all the added travel.

There are some rumblings on the interwebs about ACC and Memphis.

I agree. A lot of risk involved.

Trust me I hope this whole thing blows up and those schools are forced to come back to MWC conference.

The thing is though, I think the ADs around the MWC look at the PAC and see it as a way to distance themselves from dead weight in terms of revenue.

I stand by Memphis and AFA are the biggest pieces.

I think Memphis could pull it off alone.

Tulane maybe.

USF nope.

Utsa could probably since travel wouldn't be all that insane. (Minus OSU/WSU)

Buyouts would be issue for UTSA I believe.

Off topic. I did enjoy reading the Navy defeated Memphis!

In other G5 news NIU lost to Buffalo.

I've said this a 1000x if I am a G5 program looking to make waves I am absolutely never scheduling Army/Navy or AFA...

(Realize thats a conference game)

Those option offenses are hard to prepare for and the risk of losing to them is greater than the reward of beating them.

But that would be at a factor of 4 if you get all 4 schools. Not sure that USF would be interested if they don't get the other 3 due to travel. Memphis & Tulane in a similar situation if USF doesn't go. For it to make sense regionally, they really need a min of 4 schools out that way. If you can't get 4, do you get any of them?

It doesn’t mean UNLV isn’t real, but 3-0 UNLV won against teams that are 2-9

Kansas and Houston suck and Utah Tech is complete garbage.

I thought after UH gave OU a really tough game and followed up beating Rice they might be ok.

Nope..

KU has lost 3 one score games. This is an example of it all went right (last season) to it's all going wrong (this year)..

James Madison - group of 5 competition?

NIU just dropped home game vs Buffalo and Memphis just lost to Navy... man, we're sitting here holding our destiny in our hands
AP Poll wise: Nebraska (22), NIU (23), Memphis (26), and Syracuse (27) all lost. Boise was just ahead of us at 28 and they should kill Portland State.

There’s a chance we move into the top 25 in the AP poll this week. If not, will be just on the edge.

25 mil is still better than the 17 plus 12+ mill for UNLV right now.

I got the craziest thing on Friday!!

Who do you talk to still?
I didn’t go to the football game because the clouds looked like it was going to rain.

Man , I was at my reunion and there was this woman ..class of 1991 from Bonanza. I forgot her name. She was there with her boyfriend/husband in our class. I was chatting it up with her because nobody was talking to her.

I was stoned to the gills.

We also had some people who went to Garside/CMHS.

I smoked it out with our class president Dan Zavala and Adam Race. They went to Garside. They started way before I ever did..

Can’t believe they got a head start. I got a super late start on the whole marijuana/drinking thing..

Hahah, there was a cool group called “the shit headz”

Maybe it was the Reet Boyz that shot them dudes up.

It really sucked growing up during the “gang heydays”

By 1997..I remember going to Circus Circus and not getting asked “where are you from?”

Had to be a CIA psy-op when Gangster rap came out.

I am not as confident in the PAC media deal. Because superficially it appears west coast conference media deals are just not as lucrative as conferences in the eastern and central time zones for whatever reason. Also, as Dodd from CBS noted in his discussions with media execs they felt the new PAC’s media deal wouldn’t be much more than the current MWC.
I have read 3 different articles now all stating they think the new PAC deal will more than likely be in the 4-6 million range. If that is more accurate than 10-15 million why would any team from AAC go to the PAC?

They aren't typically no.

But would a PAC of just these 8

OSU
WSU
BOISE
SDSU
FRESNO
CSU
UNLV
USU (latest rumor)

Bring in more money than current MWC deal of 3 million?

I believe it would.

10 million?

For me it's not so much about how much the PAC deal would be worth but how little a new MWC deal might be based on the schools we lost.

If that makes any sense.

Unlv & Air Force in contact w/AAC

It would depend on media deal I think.

If current deal gets cut in half let's say, (I can't see it remaining the same) and PAC media deal doubles current MWC media package you'd make that up pretty quick no?

James Madison - group of 5 competition?

Unreal because that is a solid defense..And it's faltered late costing them games.
Watching the game, I think it was more stupid calls by the coach that lost the game. They had a solid lead and should have won easily, but several bad coach decisions screwed them including the time out by Kansas near the end of the game. If they didn't call the time out, then West Virginia would have ended up with the field go attempt instead of time to set up plays for a TD!

If UNLV in the PAC is 10-12 mill per year while the new MW deal is 3 mil maybe and that is with an elevated take.
Sure all of that extra buyout money would be nice, but MW will have to rebuild. The fee for elevated and FCS team is 5 mil per school now.
CUSA standardized exit fee is 3 mil, at least it was 2 years ago. But Marshall only paid 1.75.
Pac only paid got paid 65 mil total amongst all the teams but the official fee was supposed to be 100 mil I believe.
So it is safe to say the 18 mil per exiting MW sill likely be reduced to maybe 60ish percent, at least of historical precedent has anything to do with this. The poaching fee seems to be ironclad though.
