He’s committing at 6 PM tonight. Word is that he’s committing to UNLV.
That would be awesome! I've only seen a handful of videos of him, but for those that know more, how ready would you say he is to step into meaningful minutes as a freshman next year, assuming he does commit to UNLV?
Not the only way ,but im getting tired of these "REBUILDS" every 3-5 years,Does he still commit to UNLV if CKK is not the HC?? The same goes for D. Thomas. IF he even has entered the thought about staying next year. The ONLY way u let CKK go is with a Grand Slam or at the minimum a Homer Run hire
It doesnt matter. You dont need either of those players to stay if you make the right hire and they can bring and recruit their own roster. Yes, itd be great to keep Dedan, it'd be great to land a local big guy like Stanton... but keeping a player or a recruit who will inevitably underperform what their abilities can achieve here because the staff is underwhelming makes no sense. If they want to stay for the new HC and make UNLV a national brand again, Im all for it, but the roster turns over 70-80% every year anyways at this point, keeping an underperforming HC year after year because of "recruits" makes no sense in todays transfer market.Does he still commit to UNLV if CKK is not the HC?? That is one forecast that is at a medium level by a guy that rarely picks anyone outside of Michigan. Maybe he has inside information, or maybe he is just guessing.247 has 100% BYU for its crystal ball
Playing time and not being BYU... but yeah, its not just the national exposure of the P4.. BYU has a deep donor class and alumni base we dont have with those pockets...We aren’t going to outbid BYU, never were going to … if there’s more to it to make up what is a sizable gap, maybe … I just don’t know what that would be. Getting guys to the league? Having a chance to win on a big stage? Playing time?
Stanford is a no brainer. bYU is iffy, you can’t have sex with Mormon chicks without getting snitched on. Michigan is a f’n mess right now. Interesting to see where UNLV is at.
But we arent winning.Winning....
But maybe we stop chasing pipe dreams and start landing solid recruits who want that just win...
We had vested interest in the program back then. There were actual expectations. So people put some money where their mouth was, people expended personal energies to help things work.Money talks. Our NIL is pretty pathetic in comparison to BYU. If NIL was here during Kruger and Rice years, it would be healthy. (Yes I know they still got paid), but I think there would have been a ton more interest from the city to donate into that fund esp since pro sports weren’t here yet
Huge NIL.BYU is pulling in a lot of elite recruits for football and basketball these days. Is it because of their Big 12 status? Did they relax their academic restrictions? NIL deals?

I ever hit the lottery. Depending on how big i would fund BB ( my first love) then if won enough it would also be FB. A few million could support BB for several years. Depending on who the HC is also. LOL.All you need is one or two billionaires who are willing to put up boatloads of cash.
When you got Hogie Yogi as an NIL backer, the possibilities are endlessHuge NIL.
He was never, ever, ever coming here.PHooled you again.
I was told that he was coming here, too, and argued major points as to why it wouldn't happen. Too much influence for him to commit to us.He was never, ever, ever coming here.
Long enough that it almost seems as if the greatness really didn’t happen. And the dip has been so significant that they aren’t even 8th cousins. Not close to being related. Team name, colors, the Mack … that’s the only commonality.Sad. Program has been a shell of itself for so long it’s almost unrecognizable.
I for one think that is a healthy way to view the program going forward. Until they prove otherwise, this isnt the program that won a National title in the early 90's and went to F4s. Its not even the same level of program as the end of Kruger and Rice times. Its a mediocre mid-major, defined by a smaller and smaller group of die-hard fans that support the program no matter what and more and more apathetic fans that want to see the program return to just making the NCAA regularly vs caring that we won a National title 3 decades ago.Long enough that it almost seems as if the greatness really didn’t happen. Quit living in the past ….
What choice to you have given the current and the reasonably expected future?
UNLV could make the best hire ever, get every single break and we wouldn’t achieve what we once had. Special time, special place, most of what needed to align did. It’s an unfair standard for anyone after Tark.I for one think that is a healthy way to view the program going forward. Heck, we havent even won an outright conference title since 2000. There are grad students in medical or law school that havent seen UNLV win a conference championship in their lifetimes. Football right now is just showing how dumb the past decade of hires has been.
That’s tip of the iceberg stuff. But there’s been very little to smile about.Year in year out they continue to disrespect the name on the court with poor play, lack of urgency, defensive let downs, and no killer instinct to name few.
