Kevin is not the coach I hoped he would become when they hired him four years ago. He is clearly at his ceiling here and his coaching and recruiting are huge question marks and it’s year 4? UNLV basketball is getting worse, not better and Kevin is the reason.
Quit being one of those bad fans and posters that have turned the basketball program into its current state. If you waved Pom Poms and called every player a beast and how you’re happy people are sleeping on UNLV, UNLV would be better. If you “awwwww shucks” every unacceptable loss and celebrated 20 point wins over St Nellies, UNLV would be in a better place. Celebrate where we are at, don’t complain about it. Too many complainers. And you’re the reason UNLV is bad.
I’ve always said there are 2 types of people in this world. People who have a solution for every problem and people who have a problem with every solution. Essentially, if you’re not a part of the solution, then you’re a part of the problem.
So if CKK went to another school and brought several of his players he would have similar success? Good coaches almost always win at any level. There is a reason why successful DIV II coaches, JC coaches or even DIV I coaches (smaller schools) constantly win at a good clip for what they are given. Yea we have people like CMM that just out talents other teams.
Just look at the unqualified idiot that hired him Desiree Reed-Francois. She didn't have a clue what she was doing but continues to rise through the ranks to a seven figure income as a diversity hire!
When Craig Smith took over he didn’t take over a successful team in fact their record was worse than the one KK inherited. And taking over a successful team doesn’t guarantee success you have to bring in your own players still to be successful as Sprinkle did.
The difference is that it was the end of TKM's career, while Desiree Reed was able to fake what she did and get a huge pay increase off claiming she built the stadium, and that she made a great football and basketball coaching hire. In truth she had zero to do with the stadium, and it appears made to really bad choices regarding the coaches.
Hiring a HS fb coach and firing Rice and the saga that followed was the worst thing I’ve ever seen an AD do.
Yep not the first time he has missed opportunities to tie a game it has happened a few times now.
DRF did hire Lindy La Roque and Dawn Sullivan (now at Missouri which DRF then stole from UNLV). She knocked it out of the park with those two. Glad DRF is gone though.
