Yeah, but the Sluka fiasco is going to make recruiting unnecessarily harder. My guess is that Odom is pretty upset with Marion for playing a role in this embarrassment. Suspect he will be gone after this season, and if he isn’t every recruit Marion speaks to is going to be wondering in the back of his mind whether Marion can be trusted. This is the second starting QB transferring after not seeing eye to eye with Marion. (Yes Maiava had other rea$on$ to leave but it wasn’t like his relationship with Marion helped.) It all can be overcome but definitely a needless roadblock for the program. Makes the Fresno game that much more important. Win that game and the media will refocus back to the playoff picture.
possibly. Hard to know what Odom and Marion are thinking with all of this. I have heard that with the way things are changing for the NIL stuff next year, it will be much easier to manage as it will be in house, with UNLV, and not through the collectives as it is now. So hopefully when offers go out, they will be able to include information about the NIL packages and not leave any room for miscommunication.
I'm waiting on the receipts on a verbal offer of $100k from Marion. Cromartie's credibility and Sluka's story have so many holes. Sadly, anyone can post a story that "I was told by Sluka's father about a phone conversation (that he wasn't apart of) that Cromartie told Sluka's father that he told Odom that Marion told him about a verbal offer of $100k." BTW, the quotation above is literally the summary of an "article" I read on Yahoo.
I don't think UNLVs hands are totally clean here, but it's pretty obvious who has more credibility.
