Here is the insider write up

Who they have: Coach Dave Rice continues to prove himself as one of the top recruiters in the country. The Runnin' Rebels pulled off one of the more surprising coups of the 2016 cycle when they wrestled ESPN 100 point guard Jaylen Fisher (No. 34) away from Memphis. Fisher was the Tigers' top target heading into the summer, and the nearby Bolton (Tennessee) product seemed destined for Josh Pastner's program. But Rice and UNLV swooped in and pulled him west. Fisher can start immediately at the point guard spot, with his playmaking ability. Justin Jackson's lack of a ranking is somewhat misleading, as he was a top-50 prospect before transferring from Findlay Prep back to Canada. He defends multiple positions and can be a matchup problem in the desert. Joining Fisher and Jackson are guardChristian Vital, a New York native who had a very solid summer on the Nike EYBL circuit, and Carlos Johnson, a strong wing forward who is effective at driving to the basket and finishing.

Who they want: There's a big fish still out there for UNLV -- and it's in the form of five-star Kobi Simmons (No. 18). Simmons, an explosive guard from Georgia, is down to three schools: Kentucky, UNLV and Ohio State. The Buckeyes seem like the favorite heading down the stretch, but the Runnin' Rebels will continue to pursue. Fisher's commitment could impact Simmons, although Rice would love to have a backcourt of Fisher and Simmons in Vegas. Thon Maker and Rawle Alkins (No. 15) are two other big names with whom the Runnin' Rebels have been involved. -- Jeff Borzello
