How high will UNLV be tomorrow in the polls with a few teams ahead of us losing?

#14 BYU, #15 Texas A.M. # 19 Army.. Colorado lost as well..

We should be ahead of all of them no?

Are we looking at a top 18ish ranking?

Beat UNR, then at Boise …. Ahhhhh … top 15?
BSU will be top 10 if they do not lose and we meet in the MWC championship. We could have a chance at 15-18 range. That game could put the winner into or keep them in the top 10. Great chance whomever wins can get one of the four spots above the Big12. Tulane is the wild card, but I think a BSU v UNLV game will jump UNLV past them if UNLV wins.

Currently UNLV is #24 for the only ranking that counts anymore in regards to playoff chances!
Ya but outside of army no one lost. Will army fall to 24, 25 and behind Unlv or will 2 AAC teams remain ahead of Unlv. Tulane has 2 loses and hasnt really played anyone good but are still ahead of UNLV. Even beating not very good teams need to blow them out like they have

Big Army fans vs Tulane.

Tulane still plays 9-2 Memphis who only lost to UTSA (6-5) and Navy (7-3). Army still plays UTSA who is on a 3-game winning streak.

But I think Army already solidified their spot in conference title game right? Both they and Tulane? Tulane with wins over Memphis and Army could be problematic for UNLV. Still think Rebs would get the nod but prefer their be no doubt.

Army lost, byu lost, Texas A&M lost, Colorado lost.
ARMY will fall to 25 Colorado and Texas AM will most likely fall to 22, 23. Miz, Iowa state, Arizona state, south Carolina, and Clemson will move up. I wouldn't be suprised if Illinois jumps Unlv and Unlv is still sitting in 24th. In the next update. Personally have no faith in the ranking system

After the blowout loss of the only good team Army plays, I think they have dropped totally out of the top 25 rankings for the playoffs. The Kansas win was another feather for UNLV. The UNLV v BSU game could end up being between a top 10 and a 15-20 ranked team which would put the winner in a great position.

The NCAA may not like UNLV but the CFP committee love UNLV. Just beat Reno. We’ll see what happens

Not worried about Army more about Tulane.

I saw us projected at 21 on CBS. With Boise at 9. Depending on how things play out they could potentially lose to us and sneak into the CFP anyway.

Don’t think so. The spot were fighting for is the highest ranked non-P4 conference champion.

Only other way for them to make it would be as an at large, which ain’t happening.

Forget Army, ND beat brakes off them.
Just beat Reno and get BSU who has not looked good the last few weeks.
Got to get 10th win to play BSU, boogeyman man of MWC.

If UNLV wins out that's 12-2 and top 15 ranking, it's big if, but is nice to know we have chance.

In hoops no chance

Unlikely but the top 12 go and they are 9th right now I can see a scenario where they lose to us close and remain 12th depending on losses behind them.

No way.. they lose to us and they drop guaranteed 8 spots or more... yeah it'd be a ranked team loss, but they won't stay in top 12. The game is rigged against the G5s even with a guaranteed spot

They did. My point was that the ranked G5 non MWC teams are still "in the way" ... with Army probably falling out of the poll, they are basically a non factor. A Tulane loss to Memphis would be great for us. Losing to a team who could get ranked but can't make the title game basically locks up that BSU vs UNLV winner (if that's how it plays out....) is the G5 representative

A G5 loss to anyone is a death knell... BSU benefited by theirs being 3 months ago. Tulane, same deal - 2 months ago.

A P4 loss to a P4 team is ALWAYS a good loss in the eyes of national media and rankers.

Boise actually went up on their loss

Sounds about right.

I really don't think we have much to worry about with other teams, as I believe we control our own destiny, assuming Boise wins next week.

If we were to beat Boise on the road in the MW conference game, that would be the best G5 win in all of the contenders. It would be against a potential top 10 team at the time, and a win against someone in the final CFP rankings, which I believe would be something that Tulane or Army could not say.

Just win baby.

I like the thought, I'm just not convinced that #20ish UNLV beating #11ish BSU would jump #16ish Tulane beating theoretical 11-1 Army. Possible, just wouldn't want to bank on it

They say SOS matters, and most prognosticators value wins against other CFP teams. Army would drop out if Tulane beat them, Boise would not. Same record, with some similar losses. Though we would have the ability to revenge one of those losses.

They are the biggest threat, that is for sure. Curious to see what happens since they were idle this week.
