Super Conference(s)

The issue though, is if those schools leave and form a single new entity (only 18 schools), would their viewership remain that high? I don't know the answer, but I think I'd boycott watching those schools, just out of principle, if they left everyone else behind and went out on their own

IMO 18 isn’t enough. People would eventually get sick of watching the same teams going at each other. They should model the NFL (32) or even 50. Either way we wouldn’t be in.

I was born in New York. Eighteen or even 30 is too small. When the Jets left Long Island and moved to New Jersey, I stopped watching most NFL games, though I watch the Superbowl. If they left out Utah and UNLV, I would Probably stop following college football. To maintain interest and avoid law suits, I don't believe that they will completely exclude lesser schools.

They will make it as small as is viably possible. It's all about $$$ and they're not exactly in the game of revenue sharing with programs they deem as peons just tagging along for the check. Hello Purdue and Miss. St.

Ideally it would be about 50-60 programs. It won't be that many.

The problem these football clowns think is small ball... Make the freaking playoff 24 teams. Think how exciting the entire month of December becomes, you add an entire month of full football tv schedules that arent bowl games no one cares about.. Why do you think the NCAA tournament is so freaking exciting. We got a little bit of that towards the end of this year with the teams fighting for the spots and how each game became important for alot of teams. Its crazy they feel like they dont need competitive play across the baord and that people will blindly watch the "super league" just because. While it doesnt get the same coverage because of the market size, the FCS playoffs are amazing theater to watch because competitive football and win or go home makes thrilling TV. No one wants to watch Georgia or Bama lose 4 or 5 games but make a playoff just because their Bama. Its so short sided

Agree I think it will be 48-64 and probably soon. There are 34 in the BIG/SEC I dont think they wil kick any of their schools out so that leaves 14-30 schools to get in.

ND,ACC, Big12 are 35 schools which most if not all of the rest will come from.

Yeah but I do think that programs like Vandy, Purdue, Miss St, Minnesota, NWestern etc. are on the chopping block, no?

I completely agree. But I’m fearful what is left will be like FCS.

I think the viewership would plummet. Those areas of the country that do not have a team in one of the two big conferences would lose any interest at all with few exceptions.

I agree, which is why I think they may add more schools than they may want to. Just to keep the biggest fanbase possible.

If in doubt they will go for the most money per school. It's ALL about money. If one school could sign a contract for $ 1 trillion a year if they disbanded their athletic department they would do it.
