Give it your best guess

Pat Fitzgerald would be amazing, I will go with that pick.
Fitzgerald was aware and made hand gestures that indicated that freshman players should be physically and sexually assaulted for poor performance. The sexual assaults included acts such as being dry-humped by groups of upperclassmen, being forced to enter team showers through parallel lines of spinning naked teammates to resemble a carwash, and being compelled to perform a center-to-quarterback snapping of a football while naked. The accuser said that he believed that "Everyone would just be looking at each other and be like 'bro, Fitz knows about this,' because you wouldn't take that action otherwise". Investigator Maggie Hickey, who was formerly an Illinois inspector general, stated that the Wildcat players accusations were "largely supported by evidence."[18] On July 10, 2023, Fitzgerald was fired amid the allegations.[19]

I read about those hazing incidents. In my opinion a nut job if true.

He’s likely to win his wrongful termination suit. He was initially suspended two weeks and then fired.

As much as I’d love if this was true, this makes zero logical sense.
Not saying it will happen, but it is possible UNLV has made a bigger offer than West Virginia. West Virginia paid their coach $4 million this year, they have an income tax top out rate of 5% which would give an income of $3.8 million. From what I have been reading it appears the last offer by UNLV to Odom was just above $4 million per year without an state income tax. Not saying he will or will not come to UNLV, just saying that it is possible that UNLV could have a competitive offer against West Virginia. This is just another reason why UNLV needs to big in the Big 12 where they could be very competitive financially. The average current pay of a Big 12 football coach is around $4.8 million.

So do you prefer someone who is consistently 6-6 or 7-5 but will stay for a decade?
5 years ago in FB?? in a heartbeat when we were in Sam Boyd and had not practice facilities were garbage.

Thanks? Breaking News: Someone interviewed for the job!! Chris Anderson out here showing his insider prowess.
I just posted that because it was a done deal they wouldn't be doing any more interviews

Anyone see Grimalas list? Andy Avalos?

What a lazy list.
Most our writers have had lazy lists. Some are very much "give the job to Marion guys" and I fully beleive its because that would make it easier to talk bad about UNLV since they likely drop off in product. Hiring a homerun like Odom was to follow Odom means they cant criticize the program and thats just not fun for them. Honestly the local media folks are pretty lazy at their jobs and dont press to hard.

Rich Rod or Fitzgerald. I heard some chatter about Fitzgerald being in contact with UNLV.

One of the two will be the next HC, imo.

Would UNLV hire Fitzgerald with the ongoing Northwestern stuff?

I'm not judging Fitzgerald in terms of what went down there. I do not know.

I'm saying from an optics stand point do they want to spend the first half of a press conference fielding questions about it. Or ESPN segment UNLV hires 'embattled' or 'contriversial' former NW coach Pat Fitzgerald.

Seriously some of the most vanilla sports writers possible. Grimala arguably the worst among them.

If this happened it would replace the birth of my child as the happiest day of my life.

(I have no children but if I did it would).

He got fired because of one bad season. How has someone not hired him since?
