I'm linking this article because I don't recall if it had been posted before.
The small world part is this - I've worked with a guy for several years, didn't see him much over those years, but he had a position change and now I see him daily. We constantly shoot the sht about sports, he's a good dude. I had no clue who he was other than his first name.
Long story short - no, it's not Justin Burns' dad ... but this guy was the one who told me what happened to Justin. And then we get to talking about local sports, as we talked, we knew alot of the same names and when I asked his last name, bells went off because his son was a hell of a high school player many years ago. He learned my last name and freaked out (in a good way), not because of me myself, but just the last name. Anyway, It never panned out for his kid, you know how it goes, poor decisions, poor choice of circle, easily steered down paths by friends, etc. Something that has occurred more times than not with LV talent. But I'll be damned if I didn't learn a ton about the local scene from this guy, about players, AAU, from the past, from currently (he's still locked in, just not as much as previously). Making it even more strange is our paths crossed many, many times in the past without a word said (that either of us recall) and these were in smallish environments. I mean many of them, perhaps five or six dozen times or more.

Michele Carson of West Covina met Justin Burns at Cal State Fullerton. They dated off and on for about five years, according to her father.
