Jackson has a broken wrist. Mouton gave up 3 TD's and 184 yards receiving today. Every time a deep ball is thrown I expect it to be complete or us to get flagged. These guys need help.

Wyoming QB was 14-34. That is fantastic coverage overall. Secondary had to interceptions. Two of the TD catches made by Wyoming players were SportsCenter top 10 type catches. Had those catches been made by UNLV WRs we would be saying how amazing those catches were not how crappy the secondary for the other team was in coverage. The issue has been vs the deep ball. Underneath coverage has been very good.

Mouton has struggled vs deep passes. He is asked to play a lot of single coverage. Last year as a true freshman he was really good. This year has been up and down. Nobody remembers the two passes he breaks up or the plays where he has his man covered and the ball doesn't go his way.

Yes he has struggled vs the long ball, which is discouraging. However he has been right there on all of those plays. Almost every long pass against him has been a 50/50 ball unfortunately for us he's lost most. I find that much more encouraging than Rashard 'Dutch' Masters running 15 yards behind WRs a few years back.

Safety help has been non-existent or failed to get over in time to give help.

Mouton has struggled no denying it. However there are a lot of other factors involved.

When you can't make the play, that means you lack talent. He shouldn't be on the field.

You could say the same thing about the majority of your posts. The talent part.

He made plenty of plays last year. This year took a step back in deep coverage. Lack of pass rush = longer in coverage. Poor safety support has hurt.

UNLV actually ranks relatively high in completion % against. Deep ball has been issue. Mouton has been very good in underneath coverage. Should we take him off the field?

Jackson & Myles were both out. Beyond them we would have had to potentially play some walk-ons. Flowers who was moved to DB was also playing in the Dime package toward the end of the game.

Deep ball has been an issue, but some of that is lack of consistent pass rush and our safeties are used mostly in the box to help with Run support. He is a true sophmore and I think will get better, missing that RS for some guys is a big deal.
