This makes me want to give up all things regarding UNLV. Bunch of whiny babies. Everyone gets a trophy society we have become. This includes our athletes too for the most part. Sad.

Doing the young people of this country a great disservice. Once they are out in the real world there are winners and losers. Gotta learn to take adversity and overcome. Things don't always go your way. I drive by an elementary school by my house frequently and I never see the kids playing competitive games. Nobody wins and nobody loses. As a kid that was what we did. Dodge ball, kick ball whatever we were doing there was competition.

There has always been people like that and there always will. The only difference is which generation is complaining about it.

I got participation trophies when I was a kid in the 80's. This isn't new.

For the record, I don't agree with participation trophies. The ones I got were never displayed and I never cared about them. The fact that people complain about it as if it is ruining our society is silly though.

Hey, for many 1st time voters, this was the first time they actually lost at anything! It's hard to handle!

But most of this unbridled fear and is brought on by the press, social media, and plain ignorance.
