Just beat me to that, I was coming back to add the additional information. I know UNLV made an offer to him, but do not see that he has any other offers, and do not know much about his abilities. I will just believe that the coaching staff sees something in him that other schools have not seen. Would be good to make an under the radar catch and see him blow up in his senior year.

A side note... Rodney Jones plays for the program and head coach that produced UNLV junior lineman Charles Howard.

Thanks, Will.

For those of you with better knowledge than myself what position do you see him playing in college?

To me, he's obviously tall and doesn't look bulky like an interior d-lineman. He also seems to have a good first step. Does this translate to D-End, LB? I know you can add some bulk but he doesn't look like a "natural" to be a D-Tackle.

If my assessment is completely off base just let me know what I'm missing.

Depending on how big he gets I could see him at either DE or D tackle. Plays tackle in high school but has skills that could be used as a strong side d end. Just my thoughts.

From the little that I was able to read up on him, they list him as a DE. As for what different positions he played in high school, I am not sure. As for him playing a DT, he is way to small and really would have a tough time gaining 60+ pounds.

Looks like he would most likely play defensive end in base formations and possibly kick to the inside on long yardage situations to provide an interior pass rush. Also his height and reach are a bonus for knocking down passes.

I like those slightly undersized, quicker DEs. One of my favorite UNLV DEs ever was Parkhurst who played on that Las Vegas Bowl team in 2000 under JRob. If Jones can get up to 245-250 and bring the heat, he can become a nice weapon.
