Remember Matt Sluka?

Way too many memories there. Black hole, lazy river bathroom breaks etc.

Greed killed a great family place, unfortunately.
I was really surprised that it went out of business. So many kids was having a good time there. Anybody and everybody were there.

don't build a water park on leased land on the Las Vegas Strip.
Forget who it was that took over and ran it into the ground, there was a documentary on wet n wild on YouTube and it was doing gang busters, one of the biggest attractions in Vegas at Las Vegas at one point.

They spent so much money on landscaping and making it into a real water park that families could enjoy. Family came and they made a boatload.

Land disputes, greed, and business politics came into the fray and destroyed the park. I think the land and the park just rotted, after it closed. Nothing was really built there for awhile. One of the saddest things to happen in Vegas in terms of sense of community.

MGM Grand Theme park was another one, roller coaster at Buffalo Bills, there was a sports theme park/center with a racing track in early 2000s near the old Calloway Golf off LV Blvd. Forget what it was called, all American sports park or something.

What hotel owner wants a family at a water park? Mom and Dad are wasting all that good gambling money on their kids.

Scandia?

When I was a kid, my dad went down Der Stuka and it ripped his swimsuit right in half. He couldn’t get out of the pool and just sat there naked until when my mom went and bought another swimsuit from the gift shop.

So many memories…
Happened to me

Apparently it happened to a lot of bikini tops. Which is why I like to hang out near the bottom splash pools as a teen
We had a work function there and a co-worker who was quite big went down and halfway slowed down like she was almost stuck then got spit out like a cork my friend and I were at the bottom watching and she hits the bottom of the slide goes airborne 6 feet and hits the water and covered us with a wave like the Japanese tsunami.
