...and UNLV lost. Still, fun game. Good to watch the Rebels take on our arch-nemesisees.
SDSU: Smart, Tough, Tenacious.

SDSU: without two of their scorers and still scored more than UNLV.
UNLV: Not as athletic as SDSU, no rim protectors and can’t shoot.

SDSU players were more intense. They are very aggressive rebounders and ball defenders. We are a little careless with the ball too much meaningless dribbling. But it is only conference game one. They need to study the tape and make better decisions with the ball. Go rebels.

We lack the "intangibles" that makes teams better. I will leave it at that. NOT JUST 1 THING!!

Clark Kellog commented on Rebels lack of ball movement. He said they choked because they haven't played enough games yet. A lot of shots were close but lack of big man killed us on weak side rebounding. Looking down the bench no one was strong enough to block out, so we lost. Great defense by both teams except for the boards.

Dic you see the team up north destroy the Lobo's last night. Team up north was destroyed by Kansas a few days ago. Pitino has a long way to go. The transfer portal is a tough way to get quality bigs. The school up north's team looks a lot like SDSU but not as talented.

We need the Hamper. He may be slow and not terribly skilled but he's 7-foot, 250 lbs of pure muscles. A stray elbow from him could easily take out 1 or 2 opposing players.

The under 12min media timeout seemed to signal ratcheting up the "dribble too much while everyone else stands around" offense. Got progressively harder to watch. Mensah and Johnson had their ways with us.

I agree. The pointless dribbling is infuriating. Especially at crunch time.

Looking down the road....... looks gloomy ,rocky and no end in sight. There is no chance we will be better next year. Unless CKK pulls some major transfers here. Evaluating talent and that can run your system is a major checkmark to be a successful team. Rice was a great evaluator of talent ,but getting them to play hard and run his system was his downfall. Some had character flaws. Imagine if Bryce did not come back? I know a lot of new faces it does not pass the eye test for me.

I think Hampshire is key, he needs to redshirt or medical hardship this season so we at least have some size in the middle for the next 2 years. And if could find two guys who can score from at least two of three levels on offense.. 3pt, mid-range and at the rim! If he can find two guys who can create their own on all three levels to go with Williams and hopefully Lindsay is a player from day 1, then we would at least be exciting and also have a chance in most all the games we play next season. I would love to see the following guys take huge steps forward next year.. Gilbert, Baker, Webster, Muoka, Iwuakor and Hampshire!

Clark hit the nail on the head. SDSUs defense is tough. You can't dribble your way through it. Ball movement was good at times early in the game, However late in the game it was all just 1 pass. Dribble dribble dribble - bad shot.
