As much as I like him, I kinda feel last years team went as Jordan McCabe went. NOt so well - We needed him to play well, and he didn't. this year however - we have OPTIONS.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Jackie Johnson. Holy shit we haven't had someone this quick since Jerel Blassingame. (which was one of my fav EVER).

WE will finish better than 7th. Im hoping realistically for 3rd

Where do you think we will finish???

Hard to predict right now. We're are without Harkless, Cottrell and Vic Iwauko. If those 3 guys are healthy and in shape by conference. No worse than 3rd.

Where did you see 7th? Is that from last season? I don’t think we will be great but this league is poor. No way we finish 7th.

Jay's saw something the rest of us didn't see. Ask him.
I’m not sure.. Wasn’t looking for it.. People were questioning why he didn’t play the second half.. He played amazing in the 1st half, some great moves.. Naturally I was curious myself, so I watched the bench/walkthrough for handshakes during 2nd half.. Saw the boot.. The way he was walking, looked pretty serious to me.. We got a ways out till the opener so hopefully it’s minor or something he can recover from..

Just made me think, if Muoka/Cottrell go down at any point, we are in trouble size wise.. Forced to play smaller lineups.. Which is okay for situational play/if CKK decides to do that.. But if it’s serious/forces us to do that, it worries me quite a bit..

What an observation, Jay's. Thanks for that...the lack of news from the staff is really scary. You said it was in the different foot from last injury?

I figured if it was an Achilles again and surgery was imminent then it would have had to of made the news by now. Maybe not but hoping it was just a bad ankle sprain.

The boot could have been precautionary, given his history they could have booted him just to be safe. Especially given the context of the game.

However, it is another injury to the Achilles, that could be very unfortunate. Any type of rupture or tear could mean his career.

Hopefully it was just a sprain.

Yes, it was on the other foot, opposite from the Achilles tear he had at WVU.. Maybe it is pretty minor since there hasn’t been any mention of it, just didn’t look good to me..

Good to know, when I first heard about the boot, it may have been the broadcast, I thought they said it was the same side.

Read the Sun article today.. Guess it is minor, some sort of sprain.. IC going to be 100% before the season kicks off, supposedly.. So that’s great news.. I jumped the gun, thought the worse far too soon..

Nah, you saw a boot. Full tendency is to think it’s pretty serious.
Yeah man, even precautionary...a boot is definitely serious. I hated boots maybe Cottrell dont mind it. I got sliced with cleats in the ankle and refuse to wear boots. Black and blue, I would rather limp around than wearing boots. Just like I hates wearing condomes.

Not going to lie.. Got off work that night, was a little tipsy, poured some more cocktails when I got home & watched the YT replay of the game.. Noticed the boot at the end & just thought the worse because of the previous Achilles injury.. So ya, I guess my worry was granted.. But I’ve been posting about it, glad it’s finally been reported as minor.. Does make me realize tho that if IC/Muoka goes down, I am not confident in our depth at the front court to have success this season.. Are you in the same boat? Anyone else? Just don’t feel great about Karro Jones & Vic as our main back-ups to Muoka/Cottrell.. It worries me, although I am talking hypothetically at this point..

I wonder how the other teams are feeling about their chances against UNLV after watching those Canada games?

Doubt they’ll even watch it. But even if SJSU did watch them, what else could they think but “we will have a chance to beat them” considering we lost one up there? And it’s certainly not going to leave anybody with an impression that we are stellar.

Or they look at it and take it for what it was worth, practice against another 5/13 guys.

I know UNM fans are happy that they dont have to play us in Vegas this year. Can't gauge what others think of our team because I dont trust myself of what I am looking at. What I am looking at is a team that can make the NCAA tournament and go deep.

You see bball players in boots all the time. Usually, its because of foot injuries. Stress fractures to the foot are the most common reason you will see a bball player in a boot. Ankle injuries while the soft tissue is recovering is common. Don't freak out its more common than you think . BBall player are often training, at practice or drilling with a boot on - then you see them 2 days later in a game and they are fine. Not saying Cottrel is fine - IDK ? but its most likely precautionary- usually is.

Played ball my whole life, still play.. Been in a boot myself a few times due to fractures from rolling my ankle.. Well aware that it’s common.. Was concerned due to Cottrell’s previous Achilles injury.. It’s already been reported by the Sun that it’s not too serious & he’ll be ready to go by November, so no worries.. You got to read the whole thread..

I hope you’re right. I don’t see it… yet.
