In CSU's 4 losses they averaged 7 made three's. In their 2 wins they averaged 14 made threes.

Our "D" was incapable of limiting those three's.

It was clear - just by looking at their box scores - that if you limit their outside shooting you win.

I don't get how we couldn't get it done and teams like AF could. (AF limited them to 3 made three's in their win AT FT. COLLINS).

Same thing in the Boise Beat Down. Boise lost to South Dakota State in their opener. ( South Dakota State is currently 9-9 and 4th Summit League) South Dakota held them to 3 made three's and won by 2 points. We gave up 14 three's. Just look at the box scores and it's totally clear that to beat Boise you need to limit their three's.

Something is severely wrong with our perimeter defense. Until it's fixed we'll continue to lose to teams that can shoot.

It's the gamble our guards are making to get the steal or double team. Conference teams are better at getting out of it or making shots. The problem is we have a walking foul machine and a big man that's softer than Charmin in the center and they can't defend the post so our guards gamble on every drive and leave their man open... Conference teams are getting shots up quicker than the Pacific Life's of Non-conference

Plus it's easy to shoot over 5'3" JJ and 5'8" McCabe.

Right there lies the primary difference with the weak OOC and conference. You’re right, you get more time to get your shot off … and you are able to cover them more closely.

A weak OOC schedule DOES NOT prepare you in the best way for conference. This season drop a quad 3 and a quad 4 and replace them with a couple of quad 2 games. Something that small can make a difference in your preparedness and your metrics.

Well, more realistically we would've just seen the deficiencies that the team has faster, so at least we gotta glimpse of a good basketball team before reality hit...
Ultimately neither the OOC nor the Conference play this year matter, it always was going to come down to winning 3 straight in the conference tourney, which I still can't believe people are talking about like it's a reality we'll be capable of doing...
