Having difficulty finishing games, have to be happy with where they are. An easy one vs SJSU, then up against two teams just above you. Given where we were a month ago, actually having something to play for this late in the year is a very welcome change, win or lose down the stretch. It‘s been a long time since we could watch with some sort of hopes in March.
Certain players have awful games, but somebody else who you don’t expect seems to step it up and contribute and have a positive impact. That’s been for a few games during this winning stretch.
But it does seem we play a certain way and then get incredibly conservative to the point of blowing it. Almost how a prevent defense blows it. We have blown a few this year with that mindset but we’ve squeaked out a few lately.
This league is absolutely insane in the top 6 or 7 spots. There’s no greatness in the grouping but they’re all extremely tight and it’s going to make for a wild ass finish. I really think we are going to get SDSU at home this year.
I think the best thing is - hard to say this with as wild as it is - but UNLV certainly looks like they’ll finish top 5. Even if they drop SDSU and UNR … tiebreakers and such. And I think that is incredibly important, much moreso than an actual matchup if the goal is to actually win the MWCT as opposed to grabbing a freebie extra win in the first night‘s set of games.
