Anyone have any good references? So far I've called/contacted Steve Breck, Xterior Creations, California Pools, 360 Exteriors and Green O'Aces and only got an actual person to talk to once so they all seem really busy. Looking at a budget of upto $50,000 give or take.

Green O'Aces is a great option. Another is Watter's Aquatech. I've known the owners of both of them for a long time, and they're both long time Vegas guys. But yeah, I think pool guys are typically always slammed this time of year. If you want, I can check with both of those guys in terms of work and get back to you.

Since they will never get a pool finish for this pool season, If you are going to get a pool, wait until later when it slows down

Thanks. I filled out a form for Green O'Aces so just waiting to hear back. Obviously don't expect a pool now, this is all for next summer. I'll check out Watter's though.

I’ve heard, due to the wild real estate market, that it’s the Wild West with pools right now. Material and equipment are scarce and pools are in such demand that builders can double a bid. Any truth to that? If I do something in the next 6 months, does 50k get me very far, assuming the market stays hot and material is still at a premium?

What I've been told is that 75-80k is the minimum that pool builders will quote right now due to what you noted above

Building my own pool now. No mark up. Budget is 45k with jacuzzi, gas heater and two water features. In ground cleaner and salt water clorination. Material and pool equipment shortages are the biggest issue. Heard one pool plaster company has a 3000 job backlog as of a month ago. Be patient. It's going to take a while.

Sounds nice! What size is your pool if you don't mind me asking ( length, width), I'm thinking of getting one myself! I heard they charge less during the fall and winter time.

What pool builder did you go with?

My co-worker spent $37,000 on a nice, simple geometric pool about 3 years ago. It's seeming more and more that I'd have to spend almost twice or more now for the same. Got a reply from 1 out of 5 builders and I'm on a 2-3 month waiting list for design consulation.
